If you are in the Port Colbourne area, this place is a great option by the water to sit and have a drink or a bite to eat while watching the boats in the Marina coming and going. They have a nice sized patio with umbrellas, which are optional. There is a nice bar to belly up to and additional seating inside the restaurant. It has a cozy atmosphere with, of course, a bit of a nautical theme. The food we had was great. If you like hamburgers and are really hungry, you can't go wrong. They are huge! The wings were great. Poutine had plenty of cheese, so that's great! Aaaaaaand they sell homemade butter tarts, we bought a pack of 6, delish! We got the last pkg, sadly without peacans. Next time, hopefully, I will have that option. I liked them because they weren't mostly crust, lots of filling. And music wise, if you are a rock and roller, they play clasic rock in and outside on the patio. Will be closing soon for the season. Better...
Read moreWhile on a drive one weekend, we ended up in Port Colborne. Pleasant town on the northeastern end of Lake Erie that runs alongside the Welland Canal. This casual dining spot is located next to the Marina and Knoll Park. Plenty of parking available and pedestrian walkways to connect to the marina, and park. Indoor or terrace dining available and we opted to sit outside facing south overlooking the boats moored in the marina. Friendly, attentive staff who are kept busy in this popular spot. Walleye chowder is excellent and we also order Walleye popcorn as an appetizer, nice and lightly seasoned, delicious and I'm not a fresh fish enthusiast. Finished with a meatball toaster with marinara sauce and a burger, both great. No alcoholic drinks ordered this time but plenty of choices available. The breeze off the lake was bracing but the view is very pleasant. Think of St Tropez on a smaller scale and on fresh water....
Read moreOur experience..opening time around noon, weekday. Beautiful patio with a great view of the marina. Inside bar setting is your standard pub with the games on, very large area, lots of seating. Our server on the patio Aug 5 was very friendly and knowledgeable, quick and efficient. We had popcorn walleye bites (best of the day), Erie smelts (very addictive, order two next time), and the dinner pan fried walleye, very soft and tender. All were very fresh seafood, walleye is a delicious fish, no bones. Crab cakes were average, good hot, not so good cold seconds. Walleye chowder was forgettable (no broth, too dry). Lots of drink options too. Prices were very affordable compared to large ON cities, and you can walk the waterfront or canal route north after your meal to burn off the calories and enjoy the view. Easy to find restaurant with a GPS,...
