We didn't stay at the Belmont (I don't think they even have hotel rooms anymore) but we ate there (I couldn't figure out how to review just the restaurant)
3 stars out of 5 is 60% or a "C". That seems low, but it is a string C and the reason for it is mainly because the pizza was not available and due to the long wait. WE WOULD DEFINITELY COME BACK AGAIN.
It was a Thursday around 7:30pm and the place was nearly empty. Our waitress was obviously new, but tried hard and was very sweet.
We were told immediately that all pizza and pasta were not available (we had planned to try the pizza, wings and broasted chicken, so disappointing)
We ordered garlic bread with cheese as an app, which was a small serving but exceptionally delicious and served quickly.
We asked for the regular wings, broasted wings, and broasted chicken to be well done (we hate rubbery chicken). We waited an extremely long time for all the chicken, but man was it worth the wait!!! The broasted chicken was especially great. As for the wings, we preferred the regular over the broasted because for medium broasted you had to dip it in the sauce whereas the regular medium were tossed in the sauce and that was somehow better balanced. The broasted Cajun wings were good but not great.
The cocktails were all a bit disappointing, kinda flat.
Location is perfect, very close to all to see and do in...
Read moreI really wish Google would allow zero stars. I sat down and told the server I wanted to place an order to go. Without even asking if I wanted to see a menu the paper and pen came out and I was asked what I wanted. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries; it wasn’t busy there were a lot of empty chairs. People started coming in about 20 min later but it still wasn’t half full. Half an hour later the server came and said it would be another 7 min. At this point people who arrived after me were getting their food. 15 min later, a person who arrived after me had almost finished their entire meal and I was still waiting! I walked up to the server and said I had been waiting 45 min for a cheeseburger and fries and people arriving after me had been served. I was told it takes 3 min to make fish and chips, I’m not sure what that had to do with the fact I had already waited 45 min. I repeated what I had said and then was told “we get our meat from Lemayzzz.” Are they on call and the Belmont was still waiting for the meat to be delivered?!!? That has nothing to do with the amount of time I had been waiting. I was asked if I wanted to cancel the order. I said yes and walked out. This isn’t the first time I have had bad service at Belmont but it will definitely be the last. I will...
Read moreI booked the Belmont for a 50th birthday party for my friend. At first, our server was enthusiastic and happy to serve us and going as far as checking in as much as possible. Even complimenting our decorations. The server came around and told us the kitchen was closing at 8pm which confused me. And turned out not to be true at all, as people were showing up and still ordering food. We didn’t see her for intervals of time after this, when she finally came out and just gave us our bills. It all felt very rushed since it was only 8pm at this point. I asked her what time they closed and she said 2am. The worst part of all this was the cake we had brought. When we first arrived our servers offered to put it in the fridge for us with the 50th topper I had brought and paid for, since we didn’t write anything on the cake. She said the topper was “misplaced” which frustrated me. We even saw her rolling her eyes at some points during the night. Wish it would have been better for my friend since this was her favourite place, but we made...
