So nice to find another gluten-friendly place on the road! Normally can't stop at rest stops anymore (2 celiacs in the family) cause we have learned not to trust the "gluten-free" claim of Subway and there aren't lots of other options. The staff at New York Fries on the westbound side of the 401 at the Port Hope Ontario St exit were knowledgeable and answered all our questions so we felt comfortable ordering there. They pointed out the foods that contained gluten and they were not near the fries. And the kids LOVED the fries and loved that they could eat at a rest stop again just like the rest of us. Didn't try any of the other food but happy we were able to have this positive food experience...

Went back and asked if the meat on the hotdogs was indeed pulled pork, because it appeared to be chili, with peppers in it. Very hot. Could barely tolerate it. They said it's pulled pork, sweet and spicy. I told them there was nothing sweet about it but it was very spicy and it looks more like chili! Then walked out after asking if they were sure once more that they gave me the right topping. Not sure I believe him as his hand hovered over two lids before picking the one he put on my hot dog. Read moreI've spent 2 months years ago working on making great French fries. I ashamed of all the places I go to and the fries are terrible. This was the number one purchased food in the world. So hey New York fries, so I'm thinking fries in the title they might have a clue" NO! " NOT AT ALL. Mushy half cooked with all the small debri out of the chipper. The works that I got should of made up for it, NOPE, tasteless. Tried my girlfriends hotdog and it was tasteless as well, I don't get it. Maybe no one wants to succeed anymore.
