It was a Sunday night and after a day of cleaning neither of us were motivated enough to assemble a meal. This brought us to Vera’s Burger Shack. We walked in and were the only patrons in the restaurant, which, for us, was a pleasant surprise. The dining area was clean and the soda coolers were well stocked. The employee manning the cash register eagerly awaited our order and was enthused and pleasant to deal with. After placing our order, we sought an empty booth. The seats are in dire need of being reupholstered, but none-the-less, are comfortable. After a short wait, while we watched the sports highlights on the television hanging on the wall, our food arrived, presented to us with piles of fries and burgers bursting with toppings and sauces. We were both incredibly satisfied and full by the end of our meal, and at a cost of about $15 - $20 per person we were both content and not feeling cheated by the price point! Inevitably we will return, and I would certainly recommend that you give Vera’s Burger...
Read moreWalked in on a Thursday at 6:30pm to a "Help Wanted" sign, 2 teenagers working, and a line 4 people deep. After waiting 20 minutes in line and witnessing a gong show, I left after I watched the cashier touch the cash register, money, and other items then help assemble the burgers, with no gloves or having washed his hands, and deliver them to the few people sitting at tables, then come back to assemble more burgers without a word of "be right with you" to people waiting in line. I decided I didn't want to get sick and left. Word to the owner: if you are short handed and are looking to hire people why not go down and work it yourself at dinner time, which I can only imagine is one of your busier times? The two teenagers were trying hard, but are not the business tycoons you seem to be. I give one star for dirty hands and...
Read moreHad not been to this location in years. It's tucked away in the back right corner of Newport Village now. Was more central before.
Had the G-Money. Still a very good burger. Double patty with fried onions & mushrooms. Also got the fries & fountain drink, no combo size, at least at this location. Had to order fries & drink separately.
Order came to just under 28$. Even with a pretty good burger, still doesn't justify that price.
The main street location had a combo upgrade. I was there a few months ago.
With the prices Port Moody location charges & the total lack of customer service skills of staff, it explains why it was almost totally dead while I was there on a Saturaday night.
There are other Burger option out there. Hope Vera's improves. Becuz I won't be back here at...
