We recently had the pleasure of dining at the Great Wall Chinese Restaurant in Portage La Prairie, and it was a delightful experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the incredibly friendly owner, which set the tone for the evening.

The crispy chicken wings were a standout, perfectly cooked with a satisfying crunch. The mixed vegetables were fresh and well-seasoned, providing a healthy and tasty option. The chow mein was savory and packed with flavor, while the beef veil was tender and delicious. To top it off, they offer free fried rice, which was a pleasant surprise and complemented the meal beautifully.

buffet is amazing, absolutely everything tastes great. I’ve been going to this place consistently for over a year now and it has stood tall as my number one Chinese / Asian food restaurant, and after moving away and being away from this heavenly place for half a year now, I have come back to give it another try, and let me tell you I have never had better, I swear on my life that there is NO better Chinese food than this. I’ve missed it so much. Even the staff is incredible, wonderful experience the second you enter the door, and the portion sizes are AWESOME! $20 for any amount of food you want, as long as it fits in the box, I just wish the Szechuan Pork was on the dinner menu

Great Wall Chinese Food was an okay experience overall. The food was decennothing particularly outstanding, but it got the job done. The flavors were fine, though I felt like some dishes could have had a little more depth and seasoning to make them stand out.

The portion sizes were reasonable, and the service was fairly standard. Nothing was exceptionally bad, but nothing really wowed me either. If you're looking for a solid, no-frills Chinese meal, this place will do the trick. However, if you're hoping for a meal that truly impresses, you might want to explore other options.
