I am a delivery driver, who often picks up orders from KFC on 5th Ave. The company i work for delivers orders from many different restaurants and businesses around PG. So I've had the opportunity to witness(basically like 'a fly on the wall), the great customer experiences and also, not so great ones, from businesses all around Prince George. (not just KFC). Excellent customer service has always been something that I truly value and always strive to provide.
Anyways, I am writing this review to specifically acknowledge a certain employee named Jagdev, (i just learned his name today). I honestly cannot say enough good things about this man! I wish more people would be more like him! He truly has a beautiful soul.
Time and time again, I have witnessed him going above and beyond for his customers. No matter how busy the restaurant is, he always presents himself with a calm and patient attitude, even in situations with customers where he is met with, anything but that! He always greets every customer with a genuine smile, and takes the time to answer any customer questions meaningfully. He goes out of his way to ensure that his customers feel important. I have watched from the side line, how delighted so many customers are after interacting with him, as his energy is always very welcoming and positive! It is easy to see that Jagdev truly cares about providing an excellent customer experience for anyone who walks through those doors, and I hope that his efforts are noticed by many!
On multiple occasions, I have also witnessed him interacting with rude customers, and unfortunately, also some extremely racist customers. Somehow, in each of these situations, he has always handled them with the utmost grace, and professionalism!
How? I'm not sure! Super strength I guess!?!? ...'cuz as a bystander, watching these moments unfold.. I have LITERALLY had to walk away, to prevent myself from going and putting my delivery bag back in my car, and then going back inside to punch those inconsiderate a-hole customers in the face, after watching them treat him so poorly for absolutely no apparent reason!! (Pardon my little run-on sentence there! And bad grammar throughout, But I feel so revved up thinking about how terribly some of these people can treat a person who had been so kind to them!) and yet...he still maintains the same friendly and polite mannerisms after being treated that way!
Anyways.. I don't know Jagdev on a personal level.. but I wanted to give him kudos! And to recognize him and to let him know that he's doing a really great job! Your positivity is truly contagious and refreshing!
I hope that Jagdevs Bosses boss's boss sees this and considers giving him a raise! He deserves it!!!
And Jagdev.. I wish you all the best! I know you will go far! And I hope that you never let anyone dim your shine!
(And also.. as a little side note to all the employees at 5th Ave.. you are all amazing! I've seen how you all work together..even when its crazy busy..understaffed..or it just seems that nothing is going as planned.. you guys all somehow come together and make it work, and you are all collectively a wonderful...
Read moreThis isn't my first poor experience with this particular KFC. But since its a two minute walk from my house, I usually go there for food when I'm hungry and strapped for time. This latest visit however is the reason why I finally felt the need to put something here.
KFC on 5th is slow and uncoordinated. Often times, you are met with 10+ minute waits before even being sable to order, and sometimes up to another 10+ minutes in waiting for your 'fast' food.
I came in pretty hungry, and was pleasantly served right as I walked through the door. That was a pleasant surprise. I wanted to order a Big Crunch Combo, a small popcorn chicken, and a side of gravy. Then I'm being asked for what kind of salad I want, which is strange because a combo doesn't come with a salad. But the cashier insisted so I thought maybe something changed. The price was a bit higher that. I expected, so I checked the receipt afterward to see what was what.
The combo was now a box, and for some reason there was a 'no mayo' comment on the sandwich. The salad, which I said to just make as a macaroni salad, was now coleslaw. Then somebody from the kitchen came out and said they have no big crunches, and I'd have to wait another 6+ minutes. So I said just swap it to a zinger instead. When the meal was finally finished, I ended up a big crunch box (without the cookie I might add), a second sandwich (the zinger), and the big crunch sandwich inside of the box (which they supposedly didn't have any of).
The fries were lukewarm and soft. The iced tea from the fountain was almost water. The chicken drumstick from the box was dry. And somehow, despite the 'no mayo' comment magically finding its way onto the order, mayo somehow still ended up on the sandwich, which I'm at least glad for, but it doesn't speak volumes for their ability to communicate and read the orders on the screen.
They should really have a more experienced employee who is fluent in English standing at the counter alongside the new foreign employee to catch this stuff, instead of leaving him to the wolves. They should also teach these new employees the menu, so they don't blunder their way through the system and get...
Read moreI would have given 5 stars but it is so uncomfortably cold inside and so we freeze while we eat. It is the only KFC we will eat at in Prince George. Had several arguments with management on Domano. $5 fill ups- the price is raised to 5.99 for 2 piece meal and they served me mashed potatoes and gravy in the tiniest container they have, in the one you serve single salads in. The manager I spoke with up there was ignorant. His friend, I'm sure, more or less called me a liar. We frequented that particular restaurant for quite some time and all was great. Then when I said that I had never been served in such a small container the guy told me he'd been working there for a year and that they had never served mashed potatoes in a bigger one, which was a lie. Is that not calling me a liar? The manager would not do anything about it and sided with his worker. We will never step foot in there again. We had only one arguement at KFC on 5th because they wanted to charge for sauces and plates and restricted the amount of ketchup...Same thing in Vanderhoof but got that straightened quickly and now ok. If any problems arise on 5th again we will quit eating at any KFC. Also the one in Hinton Alberta SUCKS. They charge a dollar more for the 2piece fillup. Always. Very poor service. 3 large families ate there at the end of March and we said we would never ever stop there again on our way to frequent trips...
