I’m writing to share a disappointing experience I had at your restaurant today. As a regular customer who has always enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Madras Maple Café, I felt compelled to bring this to your attention. After attending an event this evening, I spontaneously decided to bring a few friends to your restaurant for dinner. I called around 9:45 PM to check if a reservation was possible for a group of five. The staff member who answered informed me that the kitchen closes at 10 PM and asked us to arrive by then. I assured her we would be there at 10 sharp, and we made every effort to arrive on time. We entered the restaurant right at 10:00 PM, and a staff member initially greeted us and went to the kitchen. However, shortly afterward, another staff member came out and informed us that we couldn’t be served because we were “late.” When I explained that we had arrived at exactly 10:00, she insisted that we were two minutes late and therefore could not be attended to. I completely understand and respect that your team has operating hours and policies in place, especially regarding kitchen closing times. However, what was most disappointing was the manner in which we were spoken to. The staff member's tone was unnecessarily curt, with no apology or courtesy offered. It felt dismissive and unwelcoming, which was especially disheartening given how much I’ve supported and recommended your restaurant in the past. I’m sharing this feedback not to complain, but because I truly value Madras Maple Café and hope that future interactions with customers, especially regular ones, can reflect the warmth and hospitality that your restaurant...
Read moreThe best Indian food in PG hands down. It is where people who are originally from India eat Indian food.. that tells you a lot. All of their dishes are always fresh and cooked with WHOLE spices. Food is always consistent. I've never ventured off of chicken curry or butter chicken when eating Indian food. I had so much confidence in them from how good those dishes were that I started ordering other Indian dishes that I wasn't familiar with. They just got better and better... and I now have a new found appreciation for Indian cuisine. This is what a restaurant should do - push you to expand and explore foods out of your comfort zone so you have more things to enjoy. I've had nearly their entire menu now and it is all delicious. And they season their rice with Indian spices - something no other Indian restaurant in PG does. They don't miss!
Their service is so-so, I've had rice missing from two of my take-out orders and sometimes there is no one at the front so I've waited 4-5 minutes for someone to help me. The food is so good that I don't care about those things. This place serves incredible Indian food and I highly recommend.
