Chez Victor — Restaurant in Quebec

I ordered from Chez Victor for delivery to a hotel I was staying at. The menu looked really interesting, with so many vegetarian and vegan options. I ordered the tofu 'popcorn', and the hazelnut & spinach burger with a green salad as the side. The food was slow to arrive, thanks to the insane highway construction near the hotel. The tofu popcorn was yummy, though maybe a little dry, with two dipping sauces to mitigate that. The burger was delicious, an interesting and satisfying take on the veggie burger. The green salad was a disaster. I would swear they got some of the greens out of the compost bin, because it had little shavings that looked like turnip peel or something. The greens were wilted and not fresh at all. Adding insult to injury, the takeout bag had no napkins or cutlery. Maybe i was supposed to add them to my cart - if so, it was not evident at checkout. There I was in a hotel room with no way to eat the salad, which in the end wasn't such a letdown because the salad was terrible. I would go to Chez Victor again, but I would not order a salad, and if I get delivery I will definitely...

The entrées we ordered were fine but the cheese curds in my husband’s poutine tasted spoiled and like they’d gone bad. We went for Valentine’s Day and as there were vegan options thought it’d be a great spot to accommodate the both of us as my partner eats meat and I don’t. I was thoroughly disappointed in my burger as the ingredients had sogged through the bread and I ended up eating a wet burger. I have never stepped foot in this establishment again. Partner and I are passing through and tried Chez Victor for dinner tonight. The food was served quickly and the service was friendly. We had deep fried cheese curds and a marinara sauce as an appetizer - absolutely fantastic. We then both had the grilled chicken, swiss and mushroom burger. It was extremely flavourful and was served with a curry/garlic mayo. It was an awesome unique taste and it definitely worked together. I ate here once a few years back and it was just as good this time.
