PFK — Restaurant in Quebec

When our family decides to have a cheat day and indulge in a fast food option, we really enjoy some KFC! This location is newly opened since about a year now and I know it’s had a very rocky start. Myself did not have a pleasant experience the first time I went to this location. I gave it another chance yesterday for a takeout supper and was pleasantly surprised. When we arrived, the place looked really clean all around. A soda fountain machine was installed. The lineup was about two people ahead of us to order. The employee taking our order was very polite and new his menu very well. He knew about the online deals/coupons and how to punch them in the cash register to adjust the price. You can pay cash/interact and credit card now. The wait is always around 20-30 minutes at any KFC in this city, except the one in the shopping mall is faster, to receive your order. They sell to people who dine in and take out, they do uber eats and doordash, they have a drive through and people can also order online for a specific time for pick up. Put that all together and it’s normal you will wait longer than other fast food chains and they also cook the chicken by the order not in advance to try to give it crispy not soggy. The portions were as expected, not half full and no amount of chicken were missing. The fries were surprisingly crispy and not soggy like other locations. We had everything we ordered in our bags and it was delicious. Will go back...

I arrived there at 18h45 and there was a lot of people waiting on their orders.

I ordered and the person taking my order barely spoke clearly to me, she understood what I wanted but asked me how many chicken fingers I wanted even tho I asked for a combo on their menu. I had to point it out to her. It took her 3 minutes to figure out on the machine where to find the combo.

I was given my receipt with supposedly my order number. It was not clear at all what is the order number on the receipt. Everyone was just checking with each other.

I spent 30 minutes total in the restaurant and saw 3 people come in to grab their online order. Cook says they don't do online orders while the people were brought at this exact address.

The lady taking orders was also chatting with what seem to be, her friend, while 4 people were standing behind waiting to get their order taken.

The employee taking my order was wearing protection gloves while none of the cooks did while packing the food???

There was no drink dispenser, only overpriced soda bottles. There was no interac or credit at the counter. After waiting in line and ordering, the cashier, the only one, would point at a hand written note on the wall, "cash only", and the only solution was to join the others, walking at the drive-in, or pay cash. The staff seemed overworked, it was hot and and crowded. The chicken does not taste like it used to; it's not really crispy and the chicken contains a lot of fat. It felt paying premium for a snackbar experience. The BBQ chicken sandwich was good, though, but it's presentation was less than appealing. We were mostly still hungry coming out.
