I had to wait for a while to be seated even though tables were empty. Some waiters were just looking at me & ignoring me & the people who were waiting next to me. Then one waiter came & offered a table which was not very conveniently located. I asked if there are any other tables empty to change mine & he said no. I stood up & noticed that couple of tables were empty where I wanted to sit to enjoy the scenic view but the waiter tried to convince me to stay at the one he offered but I refused & went to the other table. I then understood that he wanted me to sit there because he's serving at that table & if I move to the other one, it will be someone else serving me. The waiter at the new table, Alexandre, was, at the opposite of the first one, very friendly & so accommodating. The food was not the best, it was ok but nothing extraordinary. Alexandre deserves a 5 Star service rating but because of what happened with the first waiter I'm giving 2 stars to the restaurant for...
Read moreThe view and servers were excellent, but the food was an utter disappointment. We got the fish and chips and fish coating looked overcooked when served. The fish was very tough to cut and had a tough chewy consistency and was luke warm. The fries were cold and tasted old. The small salad was the only thing that was decent on the plate. My partner got their Caesar salad with falafel which was at least better than the fish and chips, but the falafel wasn't great tasting. Seems as though many things are premade freezer items that are not worth the price in my opinion. I'm very confused how they have received so many reviews talking about how good the food was. It wasn't super busy while we were there so I feel as though this was their standard quality.
I would suggest bringing a little picnic of food and sitting at the base of the falls to eat it. They had some picnic tables and the view is more...
Read moreBefore having a close up experience with the majestic Montmorency Falls, we had a late lunch at this restaurant, which unfortunately didn't quite meet our expectations.
We ordered the fish and chips and the Gourmet bowl with smoked salmon. The fish and chips were average, possibly overcooked, with tough breading and an uneven, dark brown color, although the flavor was good. The accompanying chips were greasy and irregularly cut. The Gourmet bowl, which seemed pre-made and straight from the fridge, tasted good but was let down by the extremely salty roasted butternut squash. Despite being understaffed, the friendly and accommodating crew managed to deliver orders in a reasonable time.
They also struggled to clear tables in the busy al-fresco dining area. Overall, the food quality didn't justify the prices, but the view was spectacular and we were seated promptly despite not calling ahead of time for...
