Cleopatras Famous Donair & Pita — Restaurant in Red Deer

This one is for you Amy. Sorry it took me so long. :)

I was visiting Red Deer in the middle of some tough circumstances, and decided to see if i could find a meal with my favorite food which is falafels. I called Cleopatra's and spoke with Amy and asked what could i get with falafels in it. Not only was the Falafel wrap i got so delicious, she even went above and beyond and made me home made Tahini sauce to go in it.

I went to other places in Red Deer but no one even knew what that was. Which was surprising since its incredible and usually goes with falafels. So yummy! Also to all other customers, Amy is awesome , please try and give her a break. Like many of us with how crazy things are in the world right now, some days we all need extra grace, understanding and love because were simply just doing the best we can, with the massive stressful battles we have to fight behind the scenes in our lives, the ones that people just dont know about.

I ordered on skip the dishes and when my order arrived it was completely the wrong order. I called Cleopatras directly and the girl who answered told me her co worker gave the wrong order to the skip the dish driver. She then put the manager on the phone who told me they can’t do a credit for their error and he would make sure my order got delivered and to send back the other food (which I had already told him handled and opened). One hour passed and no food was delivered. I called back and they told me the cook was delivering the food himself and had left 10 minutes prior to my 2nd phone call. It was reaching two hours since my initial order and I called back a third time and the manager was extremely rude and told me to contact skip the dishes and it wasn’t their problem after he said there was someone on their way delivering it and they “take their customers very seriously.” What a joke and I was completely baffled this is how he chose to handle the situation. If I was the owner of this establishment I would be seriously re evaluating who is running the business when they are not around. Do not waste your money on this place. Absolute worst customer service I’ve ever received and...

So, I'm from Nova scotia, and there's a lot of would be donair places out there. Never really bad, but many fail to hit the mark of excellence.

Not so at Cleos. The donairs are legit, and on par with what I've had back home. The meat is fresh off the Spit, and its seared nicely on the flat top to make it extra hot and crispy on the edges. I've watched them make the donairs from start to finish, and they move and toss all the meat and veggies in the sauce while they put it on to make sure everything is covered in enough sauce. The Pitas are fresh and have a good chew to them. The panini press helps add a bit of crunch to it and all in all, keeps everything together in a nice little package. Top of the line man.

And DO NOT skip the baklava. Home made in store, fresh and the real deal.
