I had a 3 piece cod with fries. The food was hot, and the fish was very good. The fries were nothing to write home about. The typical frozen fries served at a lot of other fish and chip restaurants. They could improve by using fresh cut, but that is only my opinion. My biggest fault with this location is the size. I think they are trying to fit too many tables in a small space, which detracts from the atmosphere. Some people might be OK with this, but after working long hours, the last thing I was looking for was a crowded restaurant. When I visited, all the tables were occupied, and unfortunately, I was seated in the middle of the room next to a rather obnoxious woman that felt it necessary to play her you tube videos on her phone while some of us tried to unwind. My only other complaint would be the lack of staff. The waitress did an excellent job considering she was the only one waiting tables. Perhaps consider hiring one more staff member for peak times. All in all, good fish, reasonable prices, and quick and friendly service if you don't mind sitting in a...

Joey's Seafood (not to be confused with the other Joey's chain) is tucked away off of Gaetz, hidden behind BP's and is easy to miss unless you know what you're looking for. The south location closed a while back (also a bit hidden), but it is ABSOLUTELY worth the going out of your way for. First off, Tuesdays have an all-you-can-eat fish & chips special, and Thursdays have all-you-can-eat fish tacos: both are great options, but I've been please with most of the menu, including the variety of appetizers that are offered at reasonable rates (and can also be combined into an appy combo for even greater savings).
While they usually run a pretty lean staff, I've never been disappointed with service here, or the speed the food comes out. Now, you're not going to get anything fancy here, but as long as you're not expecting anything except deep-fried comfort food, you will not be...
Read moreMy husband and I love doing to Joey's. We always order the same thing. He gets the three piece of fish with fries and coleslaw and I get the two piece with the same as his. We also get the coconut shrimp with the tasty dip. We get those shrimp nice and freshly prepared. They're hot when we get them and still got by the time we're finished. They really are that tasty. We like to go on a Friday, don't know why, it's just the day that we choose to eat there. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful. We usually end up with not just a conversation with the server but also with the owner. The restaurant is always very clean as are the tables and floors. It's a nice enjoyable place to go for a nice fish supper.
Enjoy your meal, Joanne...
