We’d been wanting to try this restaurant for a very long time. A birthday was the perfect celebration reason to finally visit. We made a reservation for our 5-person family, and it did not disappoint. I've read a lot of reviews about the price, but for a family of 5 and our experience, we are happy with what we were served once the bill came. No complaints. Our only regret is that we have not visited sooner.
I very much appreciated that when the servers came around with the meat, they offered small amounts each time as to not overwhelm the diner and their experience in wanting to try all meats that are offered. People don't end up wasting, and I appreciate this. The servers were around constantly, softly approaching the table, there seems to be somewhat of an art to the way they do it because the timing was always perfect. They knew when to stop with something new, and somehow remembered what we loved the most, and ensured they stopped then too. The pineapple is decadent. The servers knew that we’d taken a liking to it and visited our table frequently. We appreciated that they kept tabs on this.
My only small piece of feedback about our dining experience is that its not mandatory that customers to get a new plate when going back up to the salad bar. They’re allowed to take their used plate. Hygienically, this is a turn off for some people while they’re dining - seeing others up there with a dirty plate is a bit of a turn off.
This said, I want to send a special thank you out to Richardo, my entire family agreed, he is exceptional in his delivery of customer service. Kind, polite, and so authentically appreciative that we came in. I like my meat well done, without even being asked, Richardo went to the back and had a piece of sirloin grilled specifically and perfectly to my liking. There’s something about his energy that you can’t quite put your finger on, but when we found out he was the manager, we were not surprised. Pampa is very luck to have someone like him at the helm, he made our first dining experience with Pampa exceptional. The food was phenomenal, and Richardo is the type of person that makes customers come back, repeatedly. We can’t wait to visit...
Read moreCame here for a date night with my wife. If you're into overpriced cheap cuts of meat, then you are in luck, because this place is for you. It is all you can eat so perhaps if you have a huge appetite you will get some value but for most, you just can't eat as much meat as you think. The bill came to $200 for the two of us, so not a cheap night out. I would be expecting better for that price range. To be fair we did each have a glass of wine and a couple of their cocktails which was probably the best part. I've been to a few of these Brazilian steak houses before so I wasn't too surprised. I think it's more of a novelty thing than anything else. We had a gift card so figured we'd give it a try. If you know anything about cuts of meat then you know these are mostly cheaper cuts. They are lean, tough cuts of beef and they all tasted very similar. Tri-tip, Top sirloin, Port shoulder, Pork loin, chicken drumsticks. The beef and chicken were cooked well but the pork was dry. The Picanha steak is their signature steak which was good but they only came around with it once in the beginning, never to be seen again. The service was fine, our waitress was kind of awkward and sounded like she was just reading off a script from memory but couldn't remember the lines very well. Might have been her first waitressing job. The place is attempting to put out a high end/fancy dining vibe but falls short. Nice jazzy dinner music but waitresses seem inexperienced and wearing blue jeans for example. Go to the washroom and all of the plumbing is exposed under the tiny sink; like a gas station bathroom. Am I in a nice steakhouse or a Montana's bar and grill? Personally for this price I'd rather go to a nice steakhouse and get a quality cut of meat like a ribeye, tenderloin, or new York strip. Also if you have food allergies I'd probably avoid this place. My wife has a gluten allergy and shortly after we got home she spent the night on the toilet with a puke...
Read moreWe stopped at this place on our way back home from Edmonton to Calgary. To say I felt robbed is an understatement. We stopped by at 7PM on a Sunday. I understand they close at 8:30PM. The hostess was very nice, the server was as well. But I don't go to restaurants for the servers. The salad bar was ok. There was maybe enough rice for 3 portions and the rice was overcooked and undercooked (if you know how to cook brazilian rice, you know whoever cooked it put too much water at high heat to cook but ended up with raw chunks throughout). We got served a meat that look like beef Jerky. I asked the lady who was cutting the meat if she had anything that didn't look so much like beef jerky, and I asked if it was because it was the end of the day that we were being served meat that didn't look very appetizing . She said well , sort of , "see those people there ? They finished eating 30ish min ago, so yah!" But we can put some fresh meat for you but it will take a bit. I said no thanks, I'm sorry but their logistics issue should not be left for the customer to solve or give opinions on it. Not my problem. In summary, I paid $100 +tip for my daughter and I to eat 2 spoons of undercooked and overcooked rice, beets (they were good ), 1 tablespoon of farofa (there was barely any left when we got there ) and 3 pieces of super salty jerky looking like meat. No chicken was offered . Did I leave a tip? Yes, 10% . Why you ask? Because the server was super apologetic, one can say embarrassed and it is not her fault management think they can rip people off. I rarely post bad reviews but this was well asked for...
