This place is terrible. It all started with the person who takes the order I had to repeat my order 4 times her English was barely understandable... after that she told me to come 30-45 minutes. I’m there and there is no COVID 6 feet social distancing so I wait in the car and call to see if my order is ready it is not ready she said ten minutes it will be ready . I call back in ten minutes she says another ten minutes so all in all my order wasn’t ready not in 30-45 minutes but 2 hours from my order time essentially an extra hour from my order. I come home and guess what my order is missing items that I paid for. I have never wrote a review negative or positive in my time on google . But this was excessive to make somebody wait 2 hours and not get their order right and charge them and not even give them their order to miss things. To not follow York regions 6 feet COVID rules as they should be doing. There was no markings on the ground for customers to stand on either. My first and last time here . There are a lot better sushi options in Richmond hill and this isn’t one of them. If you don’t mind waiting an extra hour on top of what they tell you, don’t care if they can forget stuff you ordered and charge you for it, don’t care about COVID , sure order here at akimi . If you want your order on time or roughly on time want to be in a safe environment . I will definitely report their COVID business malpractices to whomever I can.
An update. I got sick from their food just now. On top of that they called me couple times and are talking in Cantonese in my voicemail I had to block their number from excessive calls... be careful people when ordering from here. Below me google user is “dakota Cardenas” I searched his reviews they are all 5 star reviews and somehow he can go from Los Angeles to Calgary to Richmond hill within a week to the same day ! And other places. All 5 star reviews I’m sure that’s a fake account. Or it must be an account who businesses pay like a search optimization company to help them boost their google reviews. Read moreI don't normally write reviews here but I feel the need to warn everyone from coming to the worst sushi restaurant I've ever experience in my life. There was very few selection and missing a lot of item that other sushi restaurant would normally have. We ordered a lot of things as soon as we sat down cuz we were hungry. After we entered our order, 10 min later the waitress asked us if we're sure we wanna order the salmon pizza. We told them yes but our order never came. My husband and I ordered our 2nd round of sashimi, we waited a long time for our order. When we complained to the waitress, she kept saying she will chk but never came back with our order. We entered our order again, finally our sashimi came but the rest of our order never came. I had my baby with me so we were in a hurry to go home so we ordered dessert instead. The waiter came and asked us if we still wanted the other item from previous order, we said yes cuz why not? We're still hungry. We finished our dessert but our order still never came. So the whole entire time we really only ate 1 round of food, eventho we ordered 3 times....we didn't exactly order a huge amount of food, I think it's pretty reasonable but i don't know why they kept delaying our order and asking us if we really wanted this order. We ordered a party tray and an extra salmon + avocado roll (because one of our guests has a celiac allergy and this was one of the options that they can eat). We informed the restaurant of the importance that they separate the salmon+avocado roll from the party tray and they assured us not to worry and they would separate this for us. The guests had arrived to our home and my mother went out to grab the order so that it was fresh for the guests to eat. We timed this so that the sushi was not sitting out for a while before guests arrived to ensure no bacteria growth. Once we received the order we got it ready and placed it on the table when we noticed the salmon + avocado roll was actually placed in the party tray. Are you kidding? After we explained how important it was that these items were separated the employee still put the two together. To say that we were disappointed is an understatement. Myself and our guest who has celiac were beyond upset. Not only did the restaurant make us drive all the way back to the restaurant to pick up another salmon+avocado order, but now our guests were sitting there waiting.
