Upon entering, we were greeted by one of the staff members who asked if we were having take out--this place appears to be very big on take-out as there were a lot of people coming in and out as opposed to dining in. There also wasn't a lot of seating, but the option is nice if you prefer to sit down and eat your sushi. The place was more of a self-serve type of place where you grab your own menu and place your order at the cash register. As soon as we picked a spot to sit down, one of the staff members come by with our dishes, water, napkins and asked us if we had any questions. We ordered the Deluxe Chirashidon, Spicy Scallop, Ai roll, and Honey Mustard roll. My favourite was definitely the Chirashidon. However, I'm taking off one star because it was not the same as the photo (they gave me one shrimp, instead of 2 shown in the picture). The sashimi was nice and fresh, the shrimp and scallop sweet. The salmon was very buttery and tasted great. I was also surprised by how well the cuttlefish tasted, also very sweet! The rice was sprinkled with seaweed and was well seasoned. I am normally meh around the rice in the donburi, but I really enjoyed eating the rice this time around! The spicy scallop was pretty standard, there was nothing special about it. The Ai roll was a great change from the standard dragon roll and the cuttlefish brought out the sweetness in the sushi--it's a definitely try! The honey mustard roll was another good change from the standard dragon rolls because of the torched salmon and honey mustard sauce, but it's probably an item I can pass up next time unless I am craving that torched salmon. I was very surprised with the quality I got at this place with the prices they charge. Normally I would come out of a sushi place thinking it was just ok or a little better than ok. I really hope they keep the standard and quality at this place, as I would definitely come back. Lately any sushi place I've loved reduced their quality of fish and I am deterred from coming back. But this place--please don't! I really love your food!

This is the first time I ever wrote a review for any restaurant and I regretfully have to summarize my impression of the Leslie/Elgin Mills store with just one acronym: DUD (dishonest, unethical, devious). By combining my own experience and those found in past one-star reviews, all related to assorted platters orders, I am able to compile the M.O. of this outfit as follows: The store uses Snappy to draw unwary customers to order its assorted sashimi platters online for pickup. Once the customer arrives at the store to pick up the order, the cashier will feign the order can’t be located but the store can make it on-the-spot in about twenty minutes. But, first of all, fork out the cash. No credit card and NO receipt. When the order is ready, the assorted order suddenly becomes an all-salmon platter (see attached photo). If the customer wants to dispute the order, tough luck (remember : no receipt!!!) Never mind any apologies. On AI Sushi’s website, downloaded photo of the assorted sashimi platter from the AI Sushi’s website shows a combination of salmon, tuna and shrimp. With a 27% premium on each piece of tuna over salmon, I was ripped off considerably for my 40-piece platter which occurred on Saturday p.m., October 11. So the assorted platter orders allow a dishonest proprietor to shortchange the customers by substituting tuna pieces with cheaper salmons. While allowing non-platter orders with credit card payment but cash only on assorted platters orders, it is quite likely the store is well-versed and well-prepared in dealing with irate ripped-off customers. Last but not the least, how come there are still some 5-star reviews? Discounting the fake reviews, there are probably occasions when the store has sufficient tuna to provide genuine assorted platters before the stock runs out. Also, I am not sure the DUD M.O. is prevalent in all locations or just the Leslie/Elgin Mills store.

I have found my gastronomic haven at Ai Sushi, and I can't help but express my sheer delight with this culinary gem in the GTA. The food quality is nothing short of spectacular; each bite is a symphony of flavors that transports your taste buds to sushi nirvana.

The staff here are more than just courteous; they are genuinely friendly and welcoming. Their warmth adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with smiles and a genuine enthusiasm to make your visit memorable.

Cleanliness is clearly a priority at Ai Sushi. The pristine environment gives off an aura of sophistication, making you feel like you're in a Michelin-starred restaurant. It's evident that they take pride in maintaining impeccable hygiene standards.

What truly sets Ai Sushi apart is their mastery in the art of take-out dining. The way they present the food is nothing short of a work of art. Even in the simplicity of take-out, they manage to elevate the experience to a whole new level. The attention to detail is remarkable, showcasing their commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience whether you choose to dine in or take out.

I find myself returning to Ai Sushi time and again, and each visit reaffirms that this is the best sushi spot in the GTA. If you're a sushi enthusiast or just someone looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Ai Sushi is the place to be. The combination of extraordinary food quality, delightful staff, and a spotlessly clean ambiance make it a true standout in the culinary landscape. Highly...
