Eggsmart — Restaurant in Richmond Hill

I visited Eggsmart with a friend recently, and we had a wonderful experience from start to finish! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and friendliness, setting a positive tone for our visit. The servers were exceptionally attentive and diligent, ensuring we felt cared for throughout our meal.

I ordered the bottomless coffee, and I was pleasantly surprised by how proactive the servers were. They came around multiple times, without needing to be asked, offering refills and ensuring my cup was never empty. This level of attentiveness really stood out to me, especially compared to other breakfast spots I’ve visited.

As for the food – it was absolutely delicious! The menu offered a great variety, and everything was prepared perfectly. My friend and I were impressed with both the quality of the ingredients and the generous portions. The flavors were spot-on, and the food arrived hot and fresh, which we appreciated. What truly sets Eggsmart apart is the combination of great food and stellar service. It’s clear that the staff genuinely care about providing a positive dining experience, and it shows in every detail. I forgot to write this review a few weeks ago, but I finally came around to it now. I had come to this location on multiple occasions for years with my family. There were never any issues, the food was always great, service was always good and the location is not too far from where we live. But, I came here 2 weekends ago with my brother and ordered what I had almost always ordered.. The avocado toast with lox. When it first arrived at my table I noticed they had forgotten the avocado and must've thought I would not notice because they overloaded the lox. Not only that, but underneath the lox was chunks of butter. I was disgusted. I politely told the waiter to remake it and he responded with "the chefs are just tired today" when there were only 4 other tables seated including ours. He ended up taking it back and I received the same toast with slices of avocado and the THE SAME CHUNKS OF BUTTER underneath. They did not remake it. I was getting frustrated at this point because I had just wanted what I ordered and they did not even bother to remake the order for me fresh without the mistake. I was a bit upset at this point and told the waiter politely that I would like a fresh dish and just simply what I ordered. By the time I got my "correct order", they had cut the amount of lox in half and spread some cheap guacamole spread on the toast. They still had the audacity to charge me for it. Edit (Dec 18, 2023): They replied to my email saying to fill out the form, which I promptly did. I haven't heard back from them ever since. All these replies from management on reviews that they will follow up on issues are lies, they have not followed up yet and they have certainly not done anything about it.

Original Review (Dec 6, 2023) Very bad experience at this Eggsmart.

The server was very passive aggressive and borderline rude. I had ordered a Southwest skillet which was served with cold eggs and cold hash. My wife had ordered, chicken and waffles which were also cold and the chicken was really old and dry. The only okay items were coffee and french fries.

We had sent the food back the first time, the server said they will make it fresh. But upon tasting it was just warmed up in a microwave as eggs in the middle were warm and outside were cold. We gave up and decided to eat how much we can.

We paid the bill after leaving most of the food and decided to give feedback to the server. He got angry and started saying, "why would you pay, I could have done something about it if you food was that bad. Now you have already paid so I can't do anything now." I should have asked he didn't do anything previously so why would we expect anything different the 2nd time but decided to just leave and not get into an argument.

Never had this bad experience at any other Eggsmart or breakfast place for...
