Horrible service!! If I had the option of choosing no stars I would. Whilst walking in, I acknowledged the chef and the waitress, I seated ourselves. We were the only people at the point in time at the place and after being ignored for about 5 mins we proceeded to the counter to place our order for breakfast. Whilst waiting we observed several vendors coming in but thought nothing of it. Waiting for it to be served, I noticed that there was some sort of work being done above the stove and fryer where our food was being cooked. The person was standing (with work boots) above the stove and opening the vent above where I saw that my food was still in the fryer. I know for sure if you're doing work above a stove or changing a vent there must be dust or anything can fall during the process and in fact fall into my food. All of this occurred during business hours and again we were the only ones in the place at 10am! I inquired about what was going on and the waitress tried to ensure me that there was "no dust" there when the man was basically standing on the stove next to my food. (You can see what happens in the kitchen based on the open area they have.) I must say that in addition to this experience, I previously went around this same time at the place when there was no one and the same waitress was serving, she seated me and continued on with her duties as if there were no customers. During this time another customer came in and she proceeded to seat them and waited on them to take their orders. All this time I was waiting on my order to be taken, I got up and left after 10 mins of being unserved. I would not recommend anyone to visit this place as it seems as though they only value...
Read moreRestaurant: Scrumptious Location: Richmond Hill Price-Per person: $8-14 2 meals, with 2 coffees + tip was 40$ Ambiance: 5/5 stars Decor: 4/5 stars Service: 5/5 stars Food freshness: 5/5 stars
Went here for the first time today at scrumptious in Richmond Hill. Right away I felt like I had walked into grandma's kitchen. Warm, cozy and inviting. The decor was a bit odd, as there were some strange pictures I couldnt help but giggle.
Our waiter never missed a beat, and was really friendly, always topped up on coffee - which was endless.
We ordered the scrumptious double burger And the sausage scramble. The portions were pretty impressive and really fresh. The scrumptious burger was done to perfection, not over done and not under cooked either. The sauce was a Chipotle sauce covering the bacon and cheese , squeezed between 2 patties. The home fries I would have wanted crispier, but they were very tasty none the less. For the sausage scramble, we had a side of fries Instead of home fries. These fries honestly make it to my top 3 choices of French fries now. They were a whole new level of crispy and crunchy. Not to oily, and still every bite was full of crunch! The fish itself was a well mix of sausage and egg, topped with cheese and onions. Very well sized portion as well.
Overall great experience since we've driven by and was recommended to go with...
Read moreI have been to this diner once before , let me be clear, food is amazing always is a 5 out of 5 .
The eggs Bennie is to die for , they also have freshly squeezed orange juice .
Service : Staff is friendly but did make mistakes, my partner ordered English muffin instead of toast on her breakfast and she revived it without any bread period and we had to let them know .
Our coffee got cold ( Not the staffs fault ) we were dragging our feet , however near the end we waited for someone to come by and no one did, I had to get up and go tint he counter by the Kitchen and ask for it . Also we asked for fresh cups as we did not want the fresh coffee to mix with cold old coffee sitting on our cups. So we waited for another 2 minutes .
Although this experience service wise could have been better - we will come back again as the most important aspect for us is the food and it is just fantastic , better then any diner food in Richmond hill and better them many diners I have been to in...
