14 oz bag Salt Spring Coffee Sumatra Dark Roast (whole bean) What caught my eye was the Sumatra Dark Roast in the grocery store so I thought I would give it a try. I used to home roast and Sumatra is a favorite of mine. They butchered this coffee. Firstly, it was not roasted Dark, it was a medium brown. Secondly, it had a raunchy bitter after taste. Thirdly, it was thin like swill. On top of all that the bag doesn't reseal so I have to use a bag clip. I wrote the company and gave them the feedback along with the batch code etc. I also suggested they try other brands as a comparison (Balzacs and Muskoka) I never heard back from them. I usually find that cafes in the city that use beans from Saltspring aren’t super good but when I visited the cafe they were pretty decent. Not the best coffee I’ve ever had but definitely not the worst. Pretty average cost for an oat latte.
