The meat quality at Tanlu is fantastic. Everything was very delicious and there is a bunch of free dips you can enjoy with your grilled meats. The charcoal grills are a really nice touch and makes the food taste much better!
Tanlu House Cut: It was a smaller bowl than expected but still a fair amount of meat. Pre-marinated, tastes kind of like the KBBQ seasoning. Good but not outstanding.
Chuck Flat: My favourite! It wasn't seasoned but the flavour of the meat really comes through. It goes perfectly with some salt or dip that is provided with the meal!
Pork belly with pickled napa: Pretty good, you get a LOT of pickled napa cabbage (which I really like)! The fat on the meat was a little tough but still enjoyable. They will switch out the grill for you to cook pork since it has more fat, really nice attention to detail.
Bibimbap: Pretty standard, nothing special but it was a good filler
We had a reservation for 7:00PM but wasn't seated for 40-45 min after our reservation time. The staff were quite apologetic about it, but it was...

In general, food quality is very good but it is still slightly pricier. You are looking at $90 for two if you want a good meal.
Complimentary side dishes: best is the potato - sweet and slightly crispy skin. Seaweed is a very strong second place with its numbing and spicy pepper flavour.

Make sure you dip that chilli and cumin powder mix naeng myeon - cold noodle: the girlfriend loved it, sweet juice soup most likely, noodle is perfectly chewy
Best powder dip: chilli and...
Read moreMake sure you have a reservation. Good charcoal grill restaurant with good and helpful service. Kind of a mix between Korean and Northern Chinese food. We enjoyed the side dishes. The salad dressing they had was really yummy. We ordered the marinated beef, mushroom platter, kimchee pork bone soup, pork belly, pork belly with Chinese sauerkraut.
The charcoal was hot...I had to sit further away as my face was getting burnt...hahaha. The servers were very good and helpful. They went through the different grilling surfaces they provide depending on the meat you will be cooking. They provided helpful tips on cooking the pork belly and sauerkraut. Their cooking recommendation for cooking the scallops and rice in a shell was spot on. The rice on the edge of the shell had a nice crisp.
Looking forward to...
