My wife and I wanted a good Chinese food dinner for Christmas Eve, but we had almost given up after being disappointed with other places we've tried. She remembered that friends had mentioned Ho Tong to us, so we thought we'd try it out. WOW! We had the best Chinese food that we have had in a very long time! We went close to the end of lunch so that we could check the menu, and ended up ordering and taking home dinner to avoid a Christmas Eve rush. We could not have been happier. Nice people to deal with and fast service. We got home and couldn't wait, so we had dinner at 3 in the afternoon 😀. The portions were very generous, and everything looked amazing. Again, the BEST Chinese food we have had in longer than I can remember. For us, this is easily the best Chinese takeout in Victoria.

Every time we visit Victoria, this restaurant is a must on our list – we always end up coming here at least once or twice! The food has consistently been delicious, with generous portions that offer incredible value. Their prices are fair, especially considering the quality and serving sizes. You can tell the staff work hard to maintain both the great value and the welcoming atmosphere that keeps us coming back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for excellent Chinese food in Victoria! What we ordered: Wonton soup (not pictured), Shrimp fried rice, Beef with green beans on black beans sauce, Sweet and sour pork (Hong Kong style) All absolutely delicious! We only made it halfway through and ended up taking the rest home.

Fairly good Chinese food offering in the area. The place near me shut down, so this is the best option in the vicinity now. A little run down inside, but service was friendly and quick. Tried one of the regular western Chinese food combos and it came with complimentary tea and included an egg roll which was nice. I've had better Chinese, but only Golden City trumps this place in Victoria. If you're in the mood for Chinese and around Uptown, I'd pop in. There also seemed to be a menu on a whiteboard in Chinese only. I might use my iPhone to translate it and try something off of it next visit. Avoid the nearby Jade Fountain at all costs, it was absolutely dreadful!

Service was very good, very friendly and quick service. As other reviews said, dishes were more westernized style? Egg foo young was deep fried and quite crispy (we were expecting more Chinese style, soft and less oily?) Lots of vegetables were in hot and sour soup, so that was a plus. Biggest surprise was that (sorry, I didn’t see the price first and ordered..) they charged 7.95 for medium rice for two😳💦 I saw this place’s review was better than other place near by, but maybe we can try other place, or maybe take a Uber to go to other places to try next time. Good luck! Again, their service was good. Thank you!

Do NOT order their lo mein!!! It is not lo mein! As you can see side by side in the pictures below. On the left is the immitation "lo mein". To the right is the real deal. Theirs is a bland bed of Mr noodle with no flavour vegetables on top. The other is a delicious favourite dish of mine. When I called to complain the manager disregarded everything I had to say and dismissed my complaint. Horrible customer service I will not order again!

Westernized Chinese food at an affordable price. To be fair, the flame was right, but the sauce was westernized. For example, the chicken breast with lemon sauce was breaded and pan fried properly, the lemon sauce could use more tang. There are other example. The szechan style dish has no flower pepper taste at all. That spice is available at Fairway. So other than saying that they are westernized, I can't think of another reason.
