Friday February 12th I had lunch with a group of friends here. The other ladies all had the lunch combo for $10.95. I had a single dish for $8.95. When the waitress brought the bill she said my charge was $9.95. When I paid my bill I showed her the menu and the price of $8.95, she said nothing and just changed the price.

When I was there 16 months ago, with a group of six, the same thing happened. I was overcharged $11.00 + tax and I tipped on the overcharged amount (silly me), so it was more than $13.00. I told the lady at the cash register she was overcharging me, but she said she didn’t understand. Fortunately someone in our party had written everything down with the prices, so when we ordered we knew exactly what we wanted. I showed the lady what we had ordered, she took the paper, and then ‘misplaced’ it. I would not leave until she found it, I found it on the floor. I asked to speak to the manager, and she said she did not understand what I was asking. I left in frustration!!

I went back the next day, and talked to the manager. The lady I had dealt with the night before left when I came in. The manager said it was unacceptable, and refunded me the $11.00 + tax, but not the extra tip.

BEWARE AND WATCH WHAT YOU...

The food is an average chinese restaurant... the service of this guy idk if his mentally challenge or what... His service is so rude. I ordered a bbq duck lo mein then it came only with just the lo mein and I was just going to ask where's the bbq duck but then he yelled at me saying "yes?!!!!" Then walk away and clean a table singing really singing... there's not even a customer coming and when the bbq duck comes then he mumbled about why it takes so long... he could just say wait and I wiuld happily wait... but then all the way he was rude to me and my wife. When its time to pay the lady cashier took our card and tip for us... I was asking why? The service is not good and the food is not that great. She said for her and the cooks... SMH! For her... i didnt even saw when we came in... anyway kudos for the cooks and beware to customers

Somehow this restaurant entertain seniors and people who...

Roughly 2 weeks ago, we ordered 2 orders of Jip Way chow mein, delivered. The food arrived barely warm; after dishing out our meal and reheating it, we dove in. A few bites in, I bit down on something sharp. Much to my concern, it was a mangled staple! I called Ho Tongs to let them know. You'd think I was committing a crime by complaining!! Nothing was done to repair a badly managed order.

Tonight, having ordered 2 dishes and a side, one of the dishes was missing a key ingredient. How can one have BBQ pork shrimp dumpling noodle soup without the noodles!? I called and asked why they had sent a noodle soup dish without noodles, to which she replied "I didn't hear noodles". I explained that I had ordered it correctly and she didn't want to deal with me or offer any kind of repair for another terrible experience. I assertively advised her that we would no longer be patrons. Rude and...

My wife and I wanted a good Chinese food dinner for Christmas Eve, but we had almost given up after being disappointed with other places we've tried. She remembered that friends had mentioned Ho Tong to us, so we thought we'd try it out. WOW! We had the best Chinese food that we have had in a very long time! We went close to the end of lunch so that we could check the menu, and ended up ordering and taking home dinner to avoid a Christmas Eve rush. We could not have been happier. Nice people to deal with and fast service. We got home and couldn't wait, so we had dinner at 3 in the afternoon 😀. The portions were very generous, and everything looked amazing. Again, the BEST Chinese food we have had in longer than I can remember. For us, this is easily the best Chinese takeout in Victoria.

Every time we visit Victoria, this restaurant is a must on our list – we always end up coming here at least once or twice! The food has consistently been delicious, with generous portions that offer incredible value. Their prices are fair, especially considering the quality and serving sizes. You can tell the staff work hard to maintain both the great value and the welcoming atmosphere that keeps us coming back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for excellent Chinese food in Victoria! What we ordered: Wonton soup (not pictured), Shrimp fried rice, Beef with green beans on black beans sauce, Sweet and sour pork (Hong Kong style) All absolutely delicious! We only made it halfway through and ended up taking the rest home.

Fairly good Chinese food offering in the area. The place near me shut down, so this is the best option in the vicinity now. A little run down inside, but service was friendly and quick. Tried one of the regular western Chinese food combos and it came with complimentary tea and included an egg roll which was nice. I've had better Chinese, but only Golden City trumps this place in Victoria. If you're in the mood for Chinese and around Uptown, I'd pop in. There also seemed to be a menu on a whiteboard in Chinese only. I might use my iPhone to translate it and try something off of it next visit. Avoid the nearby Jade Fountain at all costs, it was absolutely dreadful!
