A&W Canada — Restaurant in Saanich

I like A&W restaurants. OTHER A&W restaurants. Been to this one twice this week, never been before. Won't likely go again. The first visit was confused, the second was just surreal.

First visit: we went inside for breakfast and the condiment station was nowhere near a garbage. The hinged door on the garbage was stuck partially open so it couldn't close but was almost impossible to actually open wide enough to use. There were several old leaks in the roof and it was raining that day and water was dripping on the table we were sitting at. There is obvious water damage on the outside of the building as well.

Couple of days later we went back for a quick breakfast and chose the drive through. BIG MISTAKE. We ordered 3 things during which the person taking the order was clearly distracted by something much more important than a drive through customer. Then when we got to the window there were 3 people working at the counter, none of which so much as looked at us. I finally shut my engine off and then when one of them did come over it was to find out what we'd ordered! For some reason our 3 items were on 2 separate bills (I think, she wasn't making much sense) then she thoroughly confused us even further by saying that she "wasn't sure if we'd paid on the other side of the till." The what??? It was probably 15 minutes before our order was ready and I could restart my car. The hashbrown was properly cooked but my egg was overdone and tough. I was disappointed both when I purchased a well deserved and much overdue meal today at A&W in Saanich, on Douglas Street just South of Uptown. I usually chose an A&W for a number of valid reasons, unfortunately this visit didn't live up to the standard I've come to expect. I always politely ask for catch up and mayonnaise to be omitted on all my orders. Sadly as soon as I received my order I noticed it had ketchup so I brought it back and politely stated I requested no mayonnaise or ketchup close to 15 minutes later and 3rd attempt that they made without telling me I received my burgers but they didn't seem to be as flavorful as they usually are I am not sure why but certainly work of the standard I have to expect purchasing from NW from very time for more than 20 years of course there's 25. As A&W offers saute onions on their Buddy burgers I requested those as well now I can understand that the employee was new but she tried to charge me $2 for sauted onions and when I said no take that off that's a ridiculous price. I still received them but there no longer was a fee I also felt that an order that takes more than 15 minutes to complete successfully should have been resolved with an apology and perhaps a small...

About once a week for over a year we order for the two of us using the drive through. Yesterday Thursday September 2 we ordered our usual a 3 piece chicken strips with jalapeño ranch sauce fries ice tea a double teen burger fries and a root beer. We noticed the total cost was higher but figured prices increased. At the pick up window we were going to be given a ten piece behind chicken nuggets rather than 3 chicken strips. I said that is not what I ordered. I ordered the 3 piece chicken strips. We were told you don’t have real chicken anymore and chicken strips are not available. If this is true then why are they still displayed on your menu board? We left our order with you as there was no attempt to make it right. We were very disappointed and did consider ourselves to be good repeat customers. Why do you not have actual chicken anymore? Not everyone eats a plant based diet. Very...
