Had made reservations in March for a group of 20+ people for last Thursday. They called to confirm several times and we arrived exactly at 630. They showed us to a private room in the back that was a bit dated with a sticky banquet table and no table clothes. But the real shock came when the menus had NO STEAKS on them. We had specifically booked a steak house as we were finishing a bike ride around Lac St Jean (if you cycle do it). We were all a bit dumbfounded so a couple of people went to the Front. The manager in charge couldn’t have cared less … he said the menu had most of what they offered and when we pointed out there were no steaks he kind of shrugged and said more or less that is that. Another employee offered the Manhattan steak as an option which was nice. HOWEVER WE BOOKED A STEAK HIUSE BECAUSE WE WANTED STEAK!!!! The food wasn’t bad overall and the service was good. Don’t worry we all tipped well as it wasn’t the staffs fault. MANAGEMENT IS CLEARLY INCOMPETENT! We went as a group and reserved days before foe 6H pm. Well we were still there at 7H pm and just water had been served to us. We started to complain about the very slow on going service as he was only filling glasses of water and or alcohol. A bunch of people arrived after us and they got the menu and we didn’t. Talk about that. So we started to complain and asking to talk to the manager and it has been refused. Finally we got those menus. And after a while the food. Ordinary food. We finished and went out of this restaurant around 9,30- 10,00h pm. Very disappointed. And on top of this no vegan or vegetarian plate, except for fish or shrimps; which were again ordinary. We will never go back to this George steak house. Vey bad management. If you can’t serve people on time that they have reserved; don’t take that many people....

Moi et mon conjoint voulions partager un bon repas dans une ambiance chic, sans être too much. Côté ambiance, nos attentes furent assez bien respectées. Pas trop de gens pour un mardi soir, assez relax. Ce fut plutôt au niveau de la nourriture que nous avons été déçue. Normalement, nous prenons du poulet, qui est, je crois, leur point fort. Car le reste de la carte n'est pas vraiment spéciale. Ce soir, nous avons pris un tartare de thon en entrée, un hamburger pour lui, et une salade chèvre chaud pour moi. Le tartare était correct, quoique je ne voyais pas vraiment le rapport d'avoir une salade en plus des chips (qui avaient l'air) maison, très bonnes soit dit en passant. Le hamburger avait du fromage à l'intérieur, qui n'était pas écrit dans la description du plat sur le menu. Mon copain déteste le fromage, et à donc été un peu surpris. Il l'a alors retiré manuellement. Le plat en entier venait avec un pain commercial, une salade verte, et des frites. Ces dernières étaient vraiment bonnes. D'après ce goût, les poutines doivent être excellentes. Le burger en tant que tel goûtait surtout la viande, mais rien de spécial et démarquant. Ma salade de chèvre chaud était correcte également. Je l'ai trouvé surtout très grasse, beaucoup d'huile. Mais le tout était assez bon, les pacanes et le formage sont les étoiles du plat, vraiment délicieux. J'aurais même mis plus de fromage, il en manquait un peu à mon avis. Le service était bien, un peu lent, mais c'est comprenable, le gentil serveur avait l'air d'avoir beaucoup de clients dans sa section, et il était très patient et attention e envers chacun de nous. Lorsque j'ai mentionné mes allergies aux arachides, il est bien allé s'informer en cuisine pour m'éviter tout désagrément. (Mais a tout de même eu de la difficulté à faire la différence entre "pacanes" et "arachides", mais au final on s'est bien compris, et tout était correct. 😉) En ce qui concerne le prix, nous avons trouvé cela élevé pour la moyenne qualité de ce que nous avons consommés. 80$ pour deux plats et une entrée. Sans boissons. En bref, notre soirée s'est bien passée, mais je ne sais pas si j'y retournerai. Peut-être pour la poutine un de ces jours.
