Wanted to try a fancier restaurant in Saguenay.

Service- My friend and I waited 45 minutes for our main dishes after our appetizers.. NOT ok. I was extremely disappointed with that. Our waitress was professional, nice.

Food- I got the “Fondue aux Fromages” as an appetizer. Not what I expected and all, I don’t like their take on fondue. And it was very mid. Definitely overpriced.

I got the “Contre-Filet de bœuf highland” for my main dish. It was pretty good! Cooked to the temperature I ordered. The sauce on the plate went well with everything else. Parsnip purée was good, however, it was cold rather than room temperature/warm. Carrot was cooked well, it wasn’t hard to cut. I didn’t care for the other vegetables personally.

Cocktail- I forget what the full name was but “D’avril” is in the name. The cocktail was well made, strong, good and easy to drink!

Dessert- classic crème brûlée. Yummy.

Due to the wait for my meal alone, I wouldn’t return here. I also think they are a...

My wife and I were touring in the Chicoutimi area for a few days. We like all foods from eclectic casse-croûtes, to gourmet terroir restos. In the latter category your options are limited from the research I did. Thankfully, 'La Cuisine' is such a place. Located in the old downtown of Chicoutimi, it occupies a nice space with convivial lighting, tables and a bar on one side. The menu selections are varied enough to provide for most people to find items to meet their desire. The local meats, fish and supplementary ingredients are what really let's you embrace that you are not in a run-of-the-mill restaurant. The wine list favours French offerings, but also has a very good selection of Italians as well. The preparation and presentation of the courses was creative, but not excessive. We enjoyed, Wapiti (Elk) carpaccio, Mussels with Wagyu chorizo, Duck breast, and Venison... a totally satisfying meal and one...

We both chose seafood dishes as starters. Delicious! For the main course, my guest chose riz de veau (not sure how to translate that!) and I had the carbonara. Both dishes were very pleasing. We skipped dessert as we were full. The wine was excellent. Although this restaurant has a terrace, we elected to eat inside as it was very hot on the terrace. Service was very keen & friendly. It is very seldom that I comment on washrooms but these washrooms were especially cute. Someone went to a lot of trouble!! That is a good sign!! They want their guests to have a memorable...

Absolutely delicious and beautiful food! The elk steak was the tastiest steak I’ve ever had (even better than michelin star restaurants I’ve dined at). Also, I can’t express how good the maple crème brûlée was! Service and atmosphere was on point too! Give it a try!
