Awful experience; the service was slow, careless, and we got the food in installments 40 minutes after we ordered. We walked in at 3:10, and got seated within 2 minutes. We were about 10-15 customers in the whole restaurant, and I kept seeing staff going in the kitchen or eating (lunch time for them I guess?). Then we waited 20 minutes before someone came to our table, but to ask us if we were using one of the toys. So we asked for a waitress. We waited another 5 minutes before our waitress came to our table. We ordered drinks and food at the same time (3:35 by then). We ordered our drinks and three things; Mac & Cheese, one burger ,and one grilled-cheese. We got the drink 15 minutes later, and Mac & Cheese by 3:57. At 4:15 we got the burger and grilled cheese, but without one of the salads. The salad came 5-7 minutes later. As we were about to finish, another waiter came saying that we were missing the sauce that goes with the Grilled-Cheese. Then we were done and waiting another 10 minutes before the waitress came to ask us if we wanted another round of drinks. The food was ok. The burger was really mediocre (6/10). The the Mac & Cheese was good (8/10), but our favorite was the Grilled cheese (8.5/10). Not the best we've ever had, but on the top 3. However, I will definitely not recommend this place; go to the Belle et La Boeuf in Downtown Montreal instead, where the service is also slow, but at least they apologize for that. Or anywhere else, as long as customers are taken care of as...
Read moreI’ve been coming here for years and it pains me to say that the restaurant has gone downhill. Service is constantly a hit or miss and it’s very rare that we get hot or fresh food if you do not frequent the restaurant at peak service times. Since it’s located at the mall, it’s an easy choice to pop in when you’re in the area which is why we’ve been here so many times. However, I’ve too often gotten cold food, the restaurant seems to be constantly out of their most popular beers (last night they were quite literally out of every blonde/white beer and we had to get pitchers of Stella at $30 each), and service is generally below average. The menu changes every time we’re in there and it feels like the prices raise every time they print a new menu. Each time we go in, it costs us about $70 for two burgers and two beers, which is fine but considering the burgers/fries are cold 60% of the time it’s pretty frustrating. We’ve noticed it’s worse at the 10/30 location as well. It’s a shame because when these restaurants started opening and expanding, their food was absolutely delicious and affordable and we would always opt to come here and bring friends or family. After last night, with literally no beer options and below average quality of the food, not to mention the sound of the music being so loud we quite literally had to yell to hear each other in the group, I think I’m finally ending my B&LB chapter and will start spending my...
Read moreI’ll start with the elephant in the room: $40 per person after tip and taxes for a burger the size of a tennis ball is just plain highway robbery. Next, service. I ordered a burger and opted for the replacement poutine instead of the regular fries and cole slaw; I was served instead regular fries and cole slaw. Then there’s the food. Notwithstanding the microscopic toonie-sized burger, the one I ordered (Sheriff) was so shoved with pepper sauce that it entirely contaminate and STOLE the taste of the rest of the ingredients; the closest description of the experience would be drinking Sriracha sauce straight from the bottle. Barbecue sauce, onion rings, beef patty? Forget about it, all you’ll taste and feel is essentially the same as pouring 120 proof alcohol in your mouth and setting it on fire. The cocktail selection is passable, but the beer menu is plain garbage — not a single locally sourced beer, no microbrasserie options, just the usual high-volume industrial waste from Molson Coors you’ll find at your local Costco. On the plus side, the decor is agreeable and it’s not too loud so that you can establish a proper conversation with your peers without resorting to shouting — provided that your mouth isn’t on fire from the truckload of pepper sauce in the burger. TL;DR: It’s a place I surely won’t be coming back...
