Vieux St-Eustache Pizzeria — Restaurant in Saint-Eustache

Location: In the heart of the old town. Street parking is available and there are several public lots in the area. Just look for the green P.

The place: These guys took over for what used to be Chateau Lafitte - a local institution. It was nice to see that they gave the place a refresh so that it's got a fresher, more modern feel to it. The dining area is spacious.

The goods: Lafitte was known for its pizza so when I ordered a pizza on this visit, I was skeptical about how good it would be. I am (literally) delighted at how good VSEP's pizza was. Great crust, decent toppings and they catered to me "very little cheese' request which is a feat in itself since most places interpret my request backwards and give me extra cheese. One of my dates also ordered the pizza and heartily approved, while the other two ordered subs and they loved them. The good is solid. The menu is quite vast so you may have a hard time making a choice - but you can't go wrong with the pizza.

Service: Our waitress was super friendly and had a great sense of humour. The guy who was at the front when we walked in ignored us so... maybe just greet people when they come in.

The funny thing about this pizzeria, is that it is not always consistent. I find that pizzas ordered around lunch time are better prepared than pizzas ordered in the evening.
