So, like so many others I received the generic response from shaker to email them with my concerns so we could discuss the issue we hadâŠ. This was my email to them as requested sent on September 12 and I have not had a response since:

I'm a little disappointed about the generic response to mine and other reviews critical of your establishment. It does not show any possible future customers that you are addressing any of the issues raised in those comments which is only going to hurt the reputation of Shaker in the long run as a lot of potential customers considering arranging a party at Shaker will read the comments and reviews before booking. The shaker brand is an attractive one but it's not going to carry you to success if you don't address these issues.
This was my review:
We arrived at 7Pm for a birthday supper on a Thursday evening. We elected to sit outside and was seated by the hostess. We waited 10 minutes for the server to arrive and eventually made our drink order. My beer arrived in about 5 minutes while the rest of our party had to wait 20 minutes more for the drinks to arrive. In the meantime I was waiting to make a toast before starting on my drink so by the time the rest of our drinks arrived mine was warm. By this time it had become a little chilly so we moved inside to another serverâs section and had to wait for about 15 minutes before our server came to take our our supper order. I ordered calamari as an appetizer and an order of wings as a main. All of our appetizers and main courses arrived after more than 30 minutes at the same time. Both my calamari and wings were cold, so they would have been sitting waiting to be picked up for some time. Also, it seems like the chef found the bottom of the calamari bag while making my order. The wings were under cooked despite coming frozen and precooked from the factory. The taste was good but otherwise disappointing. The birthday girl ordered an onion soup that had no broth and soggy bread. The Avocado and shrimp appetizer was really good while the rest of the food was mediocre at best. Simply not acceptable given the price point. A complementary birthday dessert was served which was nice but it was served before she started on her onion soup however, it was tasty even though it was warm by the time her soup was done. The server accommodated my limited French while ordering which was nice but other than that there was nothing there. Litchi martiniâs are easy to drink under normal circumstances but this was certainly watered down. There was no indication given of any service delays on arrival or when ordering which would of dispelled any issues we had with the extremely slow service. We tipped 15% to be decent but it was not merited by any means. There is a lot of potential in this place but there are fundamental problems that need to be addressed. Iâm almost 100% confident that the severs tips are pooled and honestly this is seriously hurting their potential for providing good service. Also there doesnât seem to be any oversight to ensure quality of service and the quality of orders going to the tables. I was extremely disappointed and would not return or recommend this restaurant to anyone at this point. It seems this establishment is geared towards a party atmosphere all the time which on a Wednesday evening is not going to Win you any new customers if youâre service and food is at this level. I wish I took some pictures earlier but I was not considering writing the review until after we started our supper.

Cela a trĂšs mal commencĂ© dĂšs notre arrivĂ©e je m'aperçois qu'il nous ont positionnĂ© sur une table haute avec seulement des tabourets. Vu la prĂ©sence de mes parents ĂągĂ©s Ă mobilitĂ© rĂ©duite il nous Ă©tait impossible d'ĂȘtre assis Ă cette table. Je lui explique clairement le problĂšme et demande alors de nous changer de table pour une dont un des deux cĂŽtĂ©s est une banquette. MalgrĂ© que celle ci est aussi haute que les tabourets il sera possible avec notre aide d'y asseoir mes parents. MĂȘme si ma rĂ©servation avait Ă©tĂ© faites il y a plus de 2 semaines et la prĂ©sence de tables vides disposant d'une banquette je reçois un non catĂ©gorique de la part de l'hĂŽte et cela avec un ton sec et fendant il me donne comme raison que tout est dĂ©jĂ rĂ©servĂ©. Nais je lui demande seulement un Ă©change de table ça ne change absolument rien au nombre de place disponible. Il fini par accepter au bout de 10 min juste avant l'arrive de mes parent, mais cela ne fait pas son affaire.
La suite est plus agrĂ©able avec l'arrivĂ©e d'une serveuse sympathique qui nous donne un excellent service nous sert les entrĂ©es et les cocktails et prend nos commandes mais environ 30 a 45 min plus tard elle se fait remplacer par un autre serveur et notre cauchemar commence. Nous sommes oubligĂ© de courir aprĂšs dĂšs que nous dĂ©sirons quelques choses car il ne vient jamais par lui mĂȘme.
Ăa fait plus de 1h30 que nous sommes arrivĂ©s nous n'avons toujours pas reçu nos repas. Nous Ă©tions pourtant seulement 2 sur un groupe de 7 Ă avoir prit une entrĂ©e et ils Ă©taient terminĂ© depuis bien longtemps. VoilĂ qu'une serveuse arrive avec un tartare de saumon et le donne a ma mĂšre mais revient le chercher 5 minutes plus tard car c'etait l'assiette de la table d'a cĂŽtĂ©. Ils Ă©taient pourtant arrivĂ©e plus de 30min aprĂšs nous. Accrochons Ă nouveau notre serveur pour savoir ce qui se passe avec nos repas. Il dit aller Ă la cuisine et reviens plus de 15 minutes plus tard avec nos premiĂšres assiete en excusant en disant que la cuisine avait oubliĂ© nos repas. Le seul point positif de la soirĂ©e Ă©tait que nos repas Ă©taient trĂšs bon, mais petite portion en rapport avec le prix Ă©levĂ© des repas. Grand nachos moitiĂ© moins grand que la plupart de ceux que j'ai commandĂ© dans d'autres restaurents, hamburger assez petit avec une trĂšs petite portion de frite, mais soupe Ă l'oignon vraiment excellente , poutine poulet et steak hachĂ© trĂšs bonne. Cuisson du filet mignon correspondant celle demandĂ©.
Ensuite encore de la difficulté à avoir du service. L'aide serveuse viens nous servire de l'eau et remplie carrément la table au lieu du verre et repars comme si rien n'était. Doit courir aprÚs notre serveur pour commander les dessert et café régulier puisque la machine expresso est supposément brisé ce qui prend plus de 35 min avant de les obtenir. Brownise et pouding chÎmeur arrive carrément froid avec la crÚme glacée que plus de la moitié est fondu.
Pour finir plusieurs erreur de facture. Nous charge le dessert de mon fils Ă qui c'Ă©tait la fĂȘte malgrĂ© que le serveur venait de me dire qu'il Ă©tait gratuit. ProblĂšme de terminal de carte que les employĂ©s n'ont pas vraiment l'air de savoir comment il fonctionne.

Our server was a sweetheart but service was sooooo slow!!! Drinks took forever to come!! And the choice of drinks does not live up to a name like âshakers!â Mixology? No dear, a bourbon Bloody Caesar is not âmixology!
Food? WellâŠ. First, I think the servers and callers should receive more training as first courses and entrees arrived on our table in a mix n match fashion, giving us no time to finish our appetizers before the entree came when other people at our table had not even received their appetizers yet.
Food is disappointing! Fries, calamari, onion rings, chicken burgerâŠ. All felt like frozen stuff from a bag. Tartare was the worst. Although it was well seasoned, the meat is over processed! Sooooo ground that it is mushy. The lack of texture really kills the experience. Also the serving is ridiculous for the price!
I would not say that I will never go back there, letâs say if I had to meet friends or something, but definitely feels overpriced for the quality of the food and service, even La Cage can make...
