**May 14, 2022 — This is a follow-up review with another visit to the SUSHI SHOP location in St. Jean (boul. Omer-Marcil).
Once again, the online UX experience on the sushi shop website was a total fiasco!! Despite numerous attempts at paying for the order... pop-messages saying "This account does not support locking"??!! So a telephone call was necessary to place the order... the employee told me they will accept the SUSHI SHOP gift certificate at the location. Everything so good so far... Pick-up was much better this time than last visit in cold February... no waiting this time around but confusion at cash (LOL). First they said the Salmon Poké promotion online was not accepted at this location (so full price for Salmon Poké bowl with NO FREE Spring Roll and Bubble Tea as mention online promotion!). Then he mentioned he didn't accept gift certificate (!!)... saying I should contact the customer service online. I told him I DID ALREADY and they said the gift certificate is like CASH. Once he heard that, he said "ok".
We skipped on the sushi this time and went for The Shrimp Popcorn and Chicken Karaage entrées, which were a disappointment... tiny 10 pcs and 6 pcs. The (5) Imperial Rolls we ordered were of standard quality. The Salmon Poké bowl and the Spicy Shrimp Poké bowls were actually very good... what we expected of SUSHI SHOP quality. So for this updated review... ONE added star to the last review... for 2 STARS for this location! Service has improved (changed staff?) at this location but website still NEEDS work... should not be frustrating to place a simple order online to pick up!! .
Wish there was an option of NO STARS for Customer Service at this SUSHI SHOP location. . February 15th, 2022 — Totally WORST experience ever with a SUSHI SHOP location after years of customer loyalty from the start even before it was part of the MTY Group... it boils down to this incident to not recommend the Sushi Shop at all.
Decided to order sushi this evening from a nearby SUSHI SHOP (bout. Omer-Marcil, St-Jean) and had received a gift card from friends in Dec. 2019 (with Covid and all, never got a chance to use it) ...so as they say on their website "Sushi Shop gift cards are practical, safe, easy to use. Perfect gifts for your families & friends".
Online ordering - message said "Gift Card is invalid", calling them - they said CANNOT HELP, we were told to call original location in Montreal. Called original location and speaking with an employee - we were told to go on the MTY GROUP website!!!?? We even have the original receipt printed with the amount paid and the SUSHI SHOP Gift Card in front of us... they cannot verify the purchase (we have printed receipt!!). Is this a joke? or a big scam??
Anyway, we were hungry and sushi was on the mind... so we placed our order. After arriving at location, was told it would be another 30 mins. of wait. So went on to do other errands and returned back in 35 mins. Was told "WAIT OUTSIDE" and waited for another 20 mins before getting order. And to top it off, they even MESSED UP ON THE ORDER... ordered Sushi Pizza Homard et cie (received a Sunrise), ordered Crevette Popcorn (and received Crevette Tempura). After logging onto the website I placed my order and payed using my visa, arrived at the correct location to pick them up, only to be told by the lady behind the counter that I was wrong, and that they never received my order (in a tone that felt a bit aggressive to be honest). Thinking it might have been a technical bug, I requested if it was possible to make the order at that moment (while I was in the shop) instead, only to be told that they don't make any of the basic milk teas in this shop and that they only offered the fruity drink versions listed in their menu, which was not what I wanted and paid for through their online shop. Read moreJe suis allée au Sushi shop hier et j’ai commandé un poke bowl saumon et thon avec des crevettes tempura, jusque là tout allait. Je suis une personne sévèrement allergique à la noix de coco donc je demande toujours si il y a de la noix de coco ou de l’huile de noix de coco a été utilisé. On me répond que non il n’y a aucun produit contenant de la noix de coco dans le magasin, je lui demande si il en est sur, car je lui répète que je suis sévèrement allergique, il me répond non madame rien n’a de coco ,donc je paye. J’arrive chez moi et je remarque qu’il y a une étiquette sur le paquet de crevettes tempura. Je commence donc à lire et il est indiqué huile de noix de coco dans les ingrédients. Donc j’appelle le restaurant et j’explique seulement qu’il y a de la noix de coco dans les crevettes donc j’appelle pour certaine qu’il n’y en a pas dans le poke bowl. On m’obstine qu’il n’y a aucune huile de coco ou noix de coco dans les crevettes. Je lui dis **c’est parce que j’ai les ingrédients devant moi et c’est écrit huile de coco, je peux pas vous faire confiance et manger le poke bowl pas d’ingrédients sur le paquet si vous me m’obstiner qu’il n’y a pas de noix de coco dedans alors que j’ai les ingrédients devant moi et il est indiqué qu’il y en a, je vais le donner à mon ami. Donc il me répond venez en magasin madame on va vous rembourser
J’arrive au restaurant et il me reçoit avec un air bête. Je lui réexplique brièvement la situation et il se fâche, me répond correct j’ai compris madame vous voulez sushis gratuits, je lui répond gentiment que je vois pas pourquoi il me dit que je veux des sushis gratuit quand je lui remmène les sushis sans y avoir touché, que il m’a proposé de me rembourser et que j’ai une allergie sévère donc si il sait pas ce qui a dans la nourriture je peux pas risquer. Il me PITCH le terminal, prend les sushis et les PITCH dans la poubelle. Mais quand je dis pitcher c’est vraiment PITCHER. Ensuite il lève sa tête en me faisant voir de decal*
Je comprends qu’il était fâché car à cause de moi il a gaspillé de la nourriture, mais peux pas prendre de chance avec mon allergie, ils ne prennent pas les allergies au sérieux. Jamais je ne lui ai demandé de me rembourser, IL A PROPOSÈ! Ils sont bien gentils d’avoir remboursé la nourriture que je ne pouvais pas manger mais franchement je ne méritais pas de me faire répondre et traiter comme ça! En tout temps je suis restée polie avec eux, pensaient ils vraiment que je ne me sent pas mal pour ce qui s’est passé? Voir qu’on me dit que je veux juste des sushis gratuits quand j’y ai même pas touché aux sushis, je te les ramène je peux pas les manger. PLUS JAMAIS JE VAIS ALLER AU SUSHI SHOP ET MES AMIES NON PLUS.
Je vais continuer d’aller au Izumi, je n’ai jamais eu de problème avec mes allergies et il prenne cela...
