We had a horrible experience dining here on Canada Day after fireworks. There were only 2 staff and the guy was barely doing anything.. the girl had to manage the whole place. She asked us what we would like to drink as soon as we sat down. Since this was our first time there, we (party of 4) requested to give us a minute to go through the menu.. she left saying she’ll be back. We tried to get her attention for a LONG time and she took the order of all 4 tables around us but wouldn’t even make eye contact with us. I don’t want to bring up the skin colour issue but it sure did feel that way after a while.. nevertheless we finally caught the attention of the guy and started giving him our drink order and all of a sudden she pops in and takes over as if we weren’t trying to get her attention for the past ~ 15-20 mins.. finally when the drinks and food arrived, the pasta we ordered was very clearly spoilt.. it had a smell and had no Salt .. I haven’t tasted spoilt food but I’m pretty sure food that’s not spoiled is not supposed to taste that way.. we did inform her of the same and she said she’ll inform the kitchen.. that was it.. we had to pay full price for something that was not edible.. since we had already wasted a perfectly good night at this place we really weren’t in a mood for an argument so we proceeded to ask for the bill. To our surprise the bill had an extra item we didn’t even order. Thankfully we caught it and asked for a revised bill, paid and got out of the place. TLDR - horrible service(probably due to being severely understaffed) and inedible food (at least the pasta that we ordered. The other items were okish). Will never go back nor recommend to anyone we know. Visit at...
Read moreThe place was packed all the way up to the third level, creating a vibrant and buzzing atmosphere. It took us a while to get a seat, which is understandable since it’s one of the very few places with a working kitchen open after 11 PM.
Unfortunately, our table wasn’t properly cleaned—it had leftover crumbs and streaks of water, which was a bit disappointing.
We ordered the spicy jalapeño margarita, but it turned out to be more salty than spicy. We couldn’t taste the other ingredients at all, which was a big letdown.
On the bright side, the pulled pork nachos we ordered were absolutely delicious. The cheese made them all the more satisfying.
While we were eating, we had to ask for a glass of water. If it’s not already a company policy to serve water as soon as guests arrive, I’d strongly recommend implementing that—everyone drinks water!
The highlight of the night was our attendant, Isabelle. She was exceptionally kind, had a positive attitude, and a warm smile. She made our experience feel personal and even complimented my wife’s hair. 10/10 for Isabelle!
Update to my earlier review: We got in just a few minutes before midnight on New Year’s Eve. At most other places, we wouldn’t have been allowed to order since they close at midnight. I ordered a cocktail, but the server, Kelsey, didn’t charge me, even though I insisted. She has a lovely personality and was extremely nice. The customer service at this place is absolutely amazing. I...
Read moreA Disappointing Visit to Churchill Pub and Steakhouse
I recently visited Churchill Pub and Steakhouse in Saint John, Canada, drawn in by its glowing Google reviews. However, my experience was far from the reality those reviews painted. My friends and I were looking forward to a relaxed evening, hoping to enjoy some drinks and food. Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in, the experience was a letdown.
The service was shockingly poor. When I asked the bartender about the types of beer available, her curt response was, “Just look at what we have,” as she pointed dismissively to the counter. Then, when we tried to order food, she threw the menus at us, and half of the items we asked for were unavailable. Her attitude only got worse—at one point, she told us, “I’m not Google. Use the internet,” when we inquired about something on the menu.
While I understand that Canadians aren’t always known for over-the-top hospitality, this level of rudeness was unbelievable. It felt like the bartender had won a prize for the most unwelcoming, unprofessional service imaginable.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. If you’re looking for a pleasant spot to eat or drink in Saint John, do yourself a favor and find somewhere else. This experience was certainly not...
