K's East Side Cafe — Restaurant in Saint John

This place has absolutely amazing staff and atmosphere. Although I didn’t completely enjoy the pancakes, cause they were not buttermilk pancakes. They are the best version of this style of pancakes that I’ve ever had. They’re an actual cake style.

The owner was on staff when my husband and I went there this past Sunday and she’s a true delight, absolutely fantastic. It was our first time going there and I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to have a good old-fashioned breakfast with great stuff and a great atmosphere.

I would recommend a buttermilk-style pancake with an extra egg to the recipe as it will allow the moisture and the collective connectivity of the ingredients to deliver a truly awesome and wonderful pancake. I make this style at home and my family and I super enjoy them

We also had hashbrowns and eggs with our meal, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The onion flavour of the hashbrowns was absolutely superb. The wonderful little home-style teapot was delivered (coloured purple) as my husband had tea and he enjoyed it. I like my eggs over hard and they were cooked to perfection. They weren’t overcooked at all meaning the over-hard part of the yoke wasn’t just simply a hard clump in the middle of the egg, but they actually broke the yoke and made sure to cook it on both sides so that you have a perfectly cooked egg.

To date, my husband and I have been in St. John for just over a month and this is by far the best breakfast restaurant that we’ve gone to so far. Planning on making a trip again next weekend and look forward to the food and the atmosphere.

Desperately searching for a decent breakfast while vacationing in Saint John, I trusted a few random and out of date reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor for K's. So lucky! You would not think to stop at this tiny spot way off the main drag tucked into the corner of a worn out motel, but this is a serious breakfast with all the special touches. Lovely, warm waitress who was actually interested in us and our meal. The home made bread and home made strawberry jam were way above the norm. Perfectly scrambled eggs, excellent quality bacon. Just a really good and affordable breakfast. Hopefully you'll respect the plastic tablecloths and simple surroundings and understand the owner is thinking more about the quality of the food than the decor. Wish I could eat...

There is no obvious signage, which is why it took 2 passes up and down the street and pulling over to re-consult Google maps.

It looks dodgy as hell going in, but power through and turn right and head into the diner.

Excellent friendly, attentive waitress and the chef/cook helped my friend improve her keto-friendly meal unprompted. The food was delicious. We have been to restaurants in bigger cities that have never offered or dug in their heels about such things so this was a wonderful bonus.

Show up hungry and bring cash. Portions are large and the ATM in the bar lounge is pokey and charges a fee.
