Breakout Saint John — Attraction in Saint John

The hubby and I went camping for the long weekend and since it was a wet one, decided to look for some dry entertainment nearby. This was no easy feat as we also brought our pooch with us and I wasn't about to leave him behind. While browsing "things to do near me" I stumbled upon a listing for Breakout St John escape rooms. I recently remembered seeing one of our local escape rooms advertising that they allow dogs so I thought it worth it to ask this establishment if they did too. They answered fairly quickly via FB messenger to let me know they they couldn't due to potential allergens etc etc HOWEVER they said they would watch him in their control room (She just had to check with her staff member). They were so great and super accommodating and I'm so glad they did. Their escape room was top notch, props and puzzles were well done. I'll definitely be back (without the dog) to do more. I LOVE LOVE LOVED that the room we did was a little more in the "horror" genre I feel a lot of escape rooms play it safe and do generic themes, which I understand but with the slight horror theme it definitely amps up the intensity. For those of you that are wondering yes they do other themes too so don't worry lol, just read through the synopsis you'll see by the description what it's like or just ask them...

Standing outside of the venue, doors are locked and nobody answers the phone. Lights on inside, hours online show the business as being open. Tried calling and visiting 3 times in person over the course of 3 hours and there was no one there to assist. Had to pay a fee to cancel since there was no one available to help us reschedule, and we were officially 3 minutes beyond the 24 hour cancellation period. Would have loved to rate the actual experience but unfortunately didn't get the chance due to lack of service.

Edit to respond: I tried calling multiple times to get a hold of you, and left my name and a callback number, but never received a call back. I waited before writing a review to give you the opportunity to call back or reach out so we could sort things out. A paper in the door with your preferred contact info (Messenger, Email) letting customers like me know nobody was in that day, or a callback on one of the following days would have prevented this completely. We reached out through a valid contact method listed on google and your website and didn't receive a response.

The amazing staff makes this location even better! The rooms are creative and well put-together.

Some issues with puzzles not unlocking properly has caused us to not break out a couple of times at the previous location, but staff is now giving back some time to compensate.

Most recent visit, the staff member who was watching our progress actually came in and fixed the issue. We didn't know we had correctly solved because nothing happened. His being so quick to correct the puzzle meant we didn't waste time trying to figure out different ways.

This location is clean, has excellent washrooms, and I enjoy their new space! We have been many times and we will be back!!! We just bought passports and we are excited to start...
