Rocky's Sports Bar — Restaurant in Saint John

I've frequented Rocky's as a patron for over a decade now and I used to mostly enjoy my visits here, but lately the quality of service and food has gone down while the prices have gone up.

Sometimes the food is good, but whoever cooks the food at Rocky's is inconsistent so there's a good chance you will order chicken wings that are terrible, or good, and that applies to other menu items as well. Lately the food is even more inconsistent. I had wings at Rocky's recently, and the wings were boney, dry, no sauce, chewy, and didn't taste fresh. I think they were microwaved because they tasted terrible and they were ready in under 5 minutes.

The owner of Rocky's is not nice either. I've had the owner of Rocky's physically smack me on my back because he wanted to ask me a question. The owner of this bar is rude, unkind, and gets physical with patrons if he feels the need to question a patron (me).

I've had good experience here, but not so much lately. Sometimes the service is ok but not always, and the food isn't always good either. The prices do not reflect the quality served at Rocky's.

Ok, first off we were looking for a place to chill on our way up to cape Breton after a long drive from Boston and every other place was way too hot and muggy, so we went into here with perfect ac and met Nicole our server. We had a great experience here with Nicole’s recommendation of appetizers and drinks, so we made a reservation for our stop back in St John a week later for 8 of us. Not only did they have a spot set up for us when we got there, they had a table reserved that said Massholes on it! The welcome back, the food and drinks, the music was perfect for all! They remembered it was my birthday from a week ago, and came out with a hat and shot for me, with 50 cent It’s your birthday playing! I would 100% recommend this place to anyone that stays in the Hilton hotel, they just treat you like family there! It was like meeting new friends! I can’t say enough, thank you for this little hidden Gem, and the whole staff who were all smiles and fun. Loved every minute there, and will definitely be back when in St John!! Thank you Rocky’s, you should be proud of the staff...

Thursday night visit. Seated at the bar and server was Vanessa, certainly one of the best bartender/food servers I have come across. Great sports bar/restaurant for watching your favorite games or just having a drink and/or meal. My wife ordered the crunchy Caesar salad. Served with a flattened, crunchy chicken breast chopped up on top of the salad. Caesar dressing and there is also a balsamic vinaigrette with this as well. She really enjoyed this and said it was one of the better Caesar salads she has had. If you like Caesar salad, you will love this one. I had the Thursday steak special. Striploin steak ordered medium, with mushrooms. It came cooked perfectly medium (compliments to the kitchen staff) and the sauteed mushrooms were great with the steak. The steak here has great natural flavour and taste. And seasoning or marinade they add goes really well with the steak. And the steak goes really well with a double whiskey!!
