Very cute little spot. The coffee and pasta salad were wonderful. I was excited to have a new café in the area.
Unfortunately, the service was terrible. I was ordering from a very kind, soft spoken barista who asked me to repeat my large order. At that point, I began reiterating what I had ordered so she could confirm she hadn’t missed anything. A gentleman by the name of Tristan, standing behind her, loudly and aggressively told me to "slow down when talking to her." I assume he didn’t hear when I had already given her my order. It was an extremely uncomfortable experience as a customer to be spoken to in such an aggressive way. The barista herself seemed uncomfortable as well.
The owner, Amanda, was also very pushy in trying to sell their books. She interrupted what I had hoped would be quiet café time to give me a sales pitch I did not want. I also noticed her going from table to table doing the same thing, even to people wearing headphones who clearly wanted to be left alone.
It’s unfortunate, because the café itself is wonderful; however, because of the staff I will not...
Read moreI would like to share this because I was a good customer of the write cup cafe. I am very disappointed by what happened today. My friend and myself went to the cafe for coffee and a scone. The scone was terrible. We each had a little piece but it was hard as a rock and tasted terrible. I then went up to the counter and said the scone was not fresh and tasted terrible. I paid $5.75 for this scone which was not eatable. The owner said she could not refund mel my money as we tasted the scone. I also found out that the scone was a day old but I paid the full price. The owner also indicated that we ate most of the scone. I am not a liar and was upset that she refused to give me back my money. I was always taught that the customer is right!! I will not return and would not even give it a 1 star for the way she made me and my...
Read moreEvery week I look forward to my "me time" It's time for me to shut the world out and just do what I love doing.. And that is writing. I always went to Tim Hortans, until this cafe opened up. It gives you that friends vibe.. I just love it. I go in, I get greeted by the lovely staff there and I always get told which new books are in because they love promoting there authors, and I love hearing about it. I always look in the show case they have to see which new cheesecake they have in stock. I don't even have to ask anymore for my drink because someone always has it ready. I love the great chats with the staff and the opportunity to meet new people. I am very thankful this place has opened up because I love everything about it.. Especially smut night. Now that's a...
