What an amazing dining experience. This new Buvette at the Rouge Tomate (open Thursday thru Saturday nights) was a culinary delight. The cocktails were creative, the wine list was top notch, and the service was personable and professional. I was expecting typical French brassiere dishes but this far exceeded my expectations. We tried 7 plates from the menu and all of them were hits. Creative, fresh, beautifully plated and cooked to perfection. We tried the broccolini with tahini - absolutely delicious; the oysters with a clementine coulis were fresh, the mushroom dish sooo good. The beef tartare was a surprise - very creative, beautifully plated and a delicious mix of flavour and texture. The butternut squash was done up zoodle-style with black truffle, parmesan & brown butter - really good; the Octopus with cucumber, fennel, hibiscus and pine nuts - cooked perfectly and a great combination of flavours; The cavatellis in a garlic and pecorino cream sauce with honeyed brussel sprouts were my favourite. Finished off with a delicious oversized, halved, semi-soft chocolate chip cookie with fresh raspberry sorbet and chocolate/pistachio ganache. The coffee is amazing too. I had a cappuccino that was so good, I ordered a second one. The atmosphere is trendy bistro, about 25-35 seats with good background music. Young, hip, & polished. The place was full but the noise level didn’t impede conversation at our table. I will absolutely be returning for another visit. Hats off to Juliet and her...
Read moreToo expensive Food was amazing! Somewhat small even if they are described as meals to share. You need to try the entire menu to feel at the very least 'satisfied'... which makes the bill extremely high. The quality of food was outstanding and fresh. But too small. Way too small.
The drinks and wine selection were better than expected. Drinks were perfect and original. An amazing taste buds experience of original dishes wisely and carefully selected.
Very small with less than 10 tables so plan ahead, but it adds a cute 'Italian' vibe and charm compared to bigger places around St Sauveur.
An amazing find, but as a traveler who tried a lot of restaurants around the world, the price for two people was just absurd for the sizes of the plates and this won't make us go back there. $220 for two people. Ridiculous A must...
Read moreMy partner and I were in town for the weekend and ended up coming to Rouge Tomate three times! We had beautiful wine and olives one night and delicious cortados and a croissant for breakfast the next day. I spent the afternoon studying (which was no problem at all, such a lovely vibe with really chill energy) and then met my partner there for a late lunch and more delicious wine. The brussel sprouts were perfectly crispy and the sauce was the a nice balance of sweet and acidic. The butternut squash was simple but really tasted like squash and was great on a rainy day. Our favourite was the prosciutto and burrata focaccia with balsamic glaze. There was a generous amount of prosciutto, burrata and the focaccia was fresh and plush. We look forward to coming back! Loved...
