I've been coming here once a year during christmas almost yearly. Has been really good up till this year. I always order the fish and chips, and well, this year the price has gone up, and i thought ok makes sense, but when i was served less than half what i normally got, i was a bit confused. The fish has always been good here, but this year, it was dry flavorless, and the tartar sauce was overpoweringly vingery to the point i thought i was chuging a bottle of vinger It completely killed any other tastes other than the vinger. For 17$ plus taxes, this was a horrible rip-off. Preaty sure everything this year came out of a box as well cause it was not their usual style fish and chips. Dont think this will be a regular stop anymore. All the prices are rediculusly high for no reason. I have also noticed that the food quality of most of the dishes was subpar at best. They, charge premium prices for something i could find better qualitly in the nofrills noname brand section. Nohing here is really prepared here. It's all straight from a box to your plate and warmed up now which is a huge disappointment. I would save your money and skip the big stop and get better quality at the dairyqueen...

Overall very good. The food was great the tables were clean and our waitress was excellent. However on the way to our table was nearly knocked in the head by another fairly dark complected waitress who was volubly telling a story which apparently required the arm swinging which did eventually result in knocking dishes and food off a table. Secondly I live within sight of a big stop and have eaten at several others in the province and usually a point of pride is their immense pie selection but here they had maybe 4. Lastly I get that they are family owned and run and most of their restaurants have the owners wife or daughter waitressing but I have never seen a more useless and lazy waitress as this one that mainly stood in the centre of the dining room but disappearing when it looked like she might have work to do and being rude with other staff trying to work around her. Maybe she's not the owners daughter but her and they windmill waitress should be fired. The rest of the staff...

Special thanks to Tammy, who is always so friendly and attentive, making us feel especially cared for after a long and tiring day. The shower room and washrooms here are extremely nice, clean, and comfortable, washing away all the fatigue from our journey. Hot showers, spotless bathrooms, and a safe, spacious parking lot make this Irving Big Stop a perfect rest stop for travelers, RVs, and truckers. Tammy’s dedication keeps the environment spotless and welcoming. This is our second time here — the first time we stopped, seeing so many trucks parked outside almost scared us away, but Tammy gave us unexpected warmth, making us feel like we had discovered a whole new world. We really want to share this great employee and this comfortable Irving Big Stop with every traveler in need. I have visited more than one Irving Big Stop and they’ve all been wonderful, so from now on, whether it’s for fuel or a rest break, I’ll always choose...

One of the better Big Stops I have ever visited. The convenience store portion is jammed with affordable souvenirs and clothing as well as the BEST snack and beverage options (they have homemade refreshers for $2.69 for an extra large!). Restaurant is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED while travelling with a family. Service was 5/5, selection was 5/5 and food quality was solid diner fare (consistency was an issue). I had the Long Haul breakfast which I would eat every day!! ($15). Prices are very reasonable. A family of 5 cost $115ish with tip (which I was happy to give for a change). The diner is also full of pictures and postings about local history which is a wonderful touch. One last comment -- the bathrooms in this place are the cleanest you will find anywhere. They even have a timer on the time since the last cleaning. I respect and support that!

The Silver Fox Irving rest stop is a 5 star road trip stop; large clean bathrooms, plenty of gas pumps, huge snack selection (though mostly standard chips, pop, style items), plenty of electric car charging stations, and a second "dark" parking lot in the back should you need to rest your eyes before returning to the road. The restaurant, however, always leaves me a little disappointed. We have stopped here multiple times while passing through over the last few years (due to the aforementioned conveniences) and everytime we say we're not going back to the restaurant. The food is OK for a truck stop, but not for the price. My meal was better this time, but the meal in the picture below was $20+ after tax and tip. While it was tasty, I would never pay that amount for it again.
