I was visiting family in Sarnia and my sister decided to take me out to this place for lunch. We both ordered the same thing except for a few minor changes. My sister wanted the sweet potato fries instead of regular and I wanted extra cheese instead of the bacon on the Clubhouse. We both also ordered a side of mayo. The coleslaw that came with it wasn't impressive at all. I found it tasted a little off a little too sweet for me not enough carrot or other vegetables it was just cabbage and tiny pieces of carrot. A good coleslaw should also have red cabbage a bit of onion and maybe even some dice tomatoes. When our food also arrived they screwed up my sister's order and gave her regular fries instead of sweet potato. We didn't have time to make any adjustments as we were on a time crunch. Also, they forgot the mayo. The Clubhouse itself was good. Where we sat was at a 2 person table but if you looked to the left there was a bunch of tables with Easter balloons and a bunch of cutlery that needed to be wrapped in napkins as well as some other miscellaneous things. It was just disorganized and looked messy and I wasn't impressed yet again. The bathroom was pretty gross to be honest I was shocked with that. I've been to many other family style restaurants that definitely would succeed this one. I don't think when I'm in town again I will suggest my sister to bring me to this place sorry but this place is a let down. The staff were very friendly I will...
Read moreSo sad to watch a restaurant we supported and enjoyed for years slip down to what it is now. I got the two pc haddock and fries to go today at the Corunna location. I'd never been there before. Always the Confed. spot. The meal I had "in house" was great! Service was fine! It was the fish in the to go order that was awful! When I opened the box there were two curled, shriveled, and dried out pieces of fish. There was NO actual batter left on it. By this time the Corunna location is closed so I called the Original, explained I was unhappy, and I took the order back there. I asked that the fish be heavily battered. I was assured this would be the case, that they would be double battered. After waiting nearly 20 minutes, I had plenty of time, and a small view of the kitchen. FILTHY! I saw 4 people in there. One had a hairnet. The grill looked dirty and had a dried up burger sitting on it. One of kitchen people picked it up and began to eat it!! The floor had visible dirt. When the fish was ready I asked to see it before it went into the bag. They were almost EXACTLY the same! These ones had a VERY light coating of batter in spots, but again, curled, shriveled, and dried! I left it all there. I will never go...
Read moreMy family chose this restaurant as our first meal at Sarnia due to the amazing reviews, however we are disappointed.
The staff were friendly, though the environment and food were less than desirable, and wait time was relatively long.
There were many flies indoors, to the extent that we had to eat the meal with one hand, using the other to keep the flies away. It was frustrating, we could not enjoy our meal. Even though they have a fly buzzer installed, it is not sufficient. However theres lots of patio space if you donât want to eat inside.
The food came in large portions and very filling. I personally tried the âPremium halibut fish and chipsâ which was one of their more expensive options, the dish was slightly over cooked and a little chewy but still moist, flavour was good though. All considering, I canât say the premium fish upgrade was worth it. My dad ordered one of their burgers, his fries were a little dry.
Until the flies problem is resolved, I do not see myself coming back or recommending this place (maybe outdoors would be fine, but definitely not indoors). Hopefully the food issues my family encountered are rare, as this was not the experience I expected seeing the...
