Selina's Thai — Restaurant in Sarnia

Having lived in Hamilton and Toronto for most of my life, and having actually stays 2 months in Thailand and 1 year in Vietnam , I can honestly say, I don’t recognize what I was eating. If doesn’t taste anything like Thai food. Since moving to Sarnia I’ve been missing being able to eat out . There’s virtually no where to eat Thai food anywhere in Sarnia. The fast food tie at the mall has more flavour than what I got it Selena Thai. I’ve also stopped going there because it taste like cleaning chemicals. If your and aspiring Thai cook thinking of opening a Thai restaurant and you plan on serving actual Thai food, you’ll certainly have my business, but it seems the good folks of Sarnia wouldn’t know Thai food if it slapped then in the face. That being said I do not know the nationality of the owners or cook, and did not try any Vietnamese dishes. So they very well could be fine. Was craving some Asian food while attending to business in Sarnia and came here based on reviews. I ordered the Pad Thai and vegetarian spring rolls. I guess for a smaller town (compared to Toronto), the food was decent but I didn't feel like it was that amazing. I'm not sure if the people working there were Thai but the food was lacking the usual Thai flavors that I'm used to and even though I ordered it with medium spicy level, it was not spicy at all. I had to ask for some peppers and even though the waitress there told me it was "very hot," it was medium at best.

But the most disappointing thing was the level of service I received compared to the others in the restaurant. I don't expect to be treated like royalty but the waitress was more talkative with the other guests in the restaurant (who were regulars and 2 other groups were out of town) and honestly I didn't feel my visit was valued even though I spent almost $40 for one person after tax...

Ordered takeout one night and big mistake. Once I got food home didn't quite smell right. And when I tasted it, to no surprise was the same, they obviously didn't make fresh shrimp or chicken. Something was terribly off. When I called to mention it the owner made it out like it was my fault. No apoligize just continuedvto argue like thry did and could do no wrong. So I couldn't be bothered to sit on the phone and argue about this. This made it even worse. No remorse no nothing. Not even a come by another day and I'll make it right. So I'm making it right but never going back in there. I even had a chef try it and thry couldn't even take another bite. OH well Selina good luck. And wondering how your doing now that you have to close for a few weeks l. It's times like this where maybe I'd get take out. But now I don't and will never trust you or your food again....
