McDonald's — Restaurant in Saskatoon

A little disappointed in McDonald's and our current generation of workers and youth. 2023, and there's still people who are blatantly disrespectful. I go to this location every once in a while if needed, and have gone to it for well over a decade. Services and food have always been fantastic and I have never had a problem...until recently. I ordered food through the drive thru before work and got to the first window. Cashier who what looked to be a blond teenager handed me the debit machine so I grabbed it. As soon as I inserted my card I noticed she was looking at my hands and shaking her head. As I was waiting for things to go through, I overheard her mumbling that I shouldn't have touched the machine with how my hands are and that she has to now disinfect the machine. I apologized and told her that I was born with a non-contagious hereditary skin disease, one that my sweat produces a higher acidity than normal which creates rashes and burn marks throughout the surface of my body whenever my sweat stays on my skin for too long. Quite the awkward silence after as I proceeded to the second window, got my food and left to go to work, brushing it off as just a bacterial concern for the company which was understandable, but still rude and uncalled for. I am disappointed to see that some of the people of this generation of youth have no manners and assume that everything is contagious. I know we just got out of a pandemic and people are still afriad to touch things, but to have been called out in such a disrespectful way was uncalled for. I am not the only one to have touched the machine nor to be the only one with a skin disease to have touched the machine. Just makes me sad, that such rudeness and assumptions still occur, even in this era. The one thing that bothers me the most, is that people like me who have physical rashes are called out and assumed to be infectious, while someone with perfect skin could be the one with something contagious. I hide my rashes and burns under long sleeves and gloves to escape ridicule sometimes, but I don't when in my own vehicle due to there being little possibility of being ridiculed. Worst experience I've ever had at a McDonald's drive thru. I placed a mobile order thru the app and told the code to the employee working the speaker, they asked if that was everything to which I replied yes and pulled ahead as instructed. This was the slowest drive thru line I have ever been in. I started a stopwatch timer on my phone a minute after I placed my order to keep track of the time and by the time I arrived at the window it was 21 MINUTES since I placed my order at the speaker and they didn't even have my order made! Was told to pull ahead into the drive thru parking spot which I refused as I have already been waiting 21 minutes for a simple 2 Mchicken value meal order. I asked the manager for the restaurant owners or corporate's number to which she then told me she was calling the cops. I drove away as I was sick of how incompetent and slow the staff were. Then I realized they had charged me for the order already when I checked my bank account when I arrived home. I called the location to ask for refund to which the manager refused to give me and also refused to give me her name for when I contact upper management/corporate. I wish I had my phone...

What can I say McDonald's is McDonald's often there are groups of seniors meeting with coffee and talking about politics and life and everything else and is often interesting to over here however sometimes they take up a lot of space which is perfectly fine as well I find that the kiosks sometimes work and sometimes they don't work very well so for example I had a gift card that had a dollar 12 on it and because that wasn't the exact amount of my order my order was about $2 it rejected the card so I had to go to a till and use the card which slowed things down but the food was good the service was good the atmosphere was fine there really is nothing that I can complain about except perhaps the wifi seems to be inconsistent sometimes it is working sometimes it is not working sometimes I get a message that my connection isn't secure so it seems that there may be some one hijacking their system I'm not sure what the cause of it is so it's best not to go to McDonald's with the intention of using the the Wi-Fi that's they're all in all it was a very good experience there is nothing that I could recommend to improve except perhaps the issue I had with the kiosk in...
