Original Joe's — Restaurant in Saskatoon

Its not often I feel inclined to write this poor of a review, this is a long one. SHAME DIRECTED DIRECTLY TO THE MANAGEMENT/OWNERS. Went there Saturday for supper, 5pm, its a long weekend, and going from here to the Lainey Wilson concert at 7. Yes it was busy. Got seated on patio right away. But waitresses were confused as to whose responsibility, we, the customers were. We waited 15 minutes before we were able to order drinks. Long time for drinks to come, 30 minutes, but as soon as they came we (5 of us) ordered food, so 5:30 we ordered food. We also asked for limes for our beers, which took 40 minutes to come. It began to rain around 6:00 pm, and different waitress ushered us inside to a booth. 6:30 the 2nd waitress took our 2nd order of drinks. A 3rd waitress shortly thereafter came to us with ANOTHER table's supper, she took it away. 6:45 pm, yet another waitress came with food but again it was another table's order. One of our guests decided to leave and eat at the concert, canceled her food order and left. 6:58 pm (90 minutes after we ordered food), our original waitress came and said your food should be about another 7 minutes ... the remaining 4 people at our table said we will cancel and pay because we are now already late for the concert...but then WOW, another waitress came with our food! We literally woofed it down in 2 minutes, paid our bill and left. We arrived at Original Joes at 5:00pm, leaving at 7:05pm, and yes we were late to the concert as a result of the tardy food service. The food was delicious but we ate it so fast we could not enjoy it.

TO THE MGMT AND OWNERS of this location, its not the first long weekend that has a huge name concert playing at Sask Place. And you should be WAY MORE PREPARED with ALL STAFF working PLUS additional! 90 minutes from ordering our food to getting it is UNACCEPTABLE! AND 30 MINUTES before we got even to order drinks, and an hour in between to get additional drinks. Our original waitress was very good, apologetic, and understanding, not her fault you short staffed your floor and kitchen in the name of profit.

Pretty good service, though it was fairly slow at the time, so I should expect so. Pretty tough to judge it on that, due to the lack of customers at the time.

I must point out that this is no fault of the restaurant. We came in about 2-3 PM, after my fiance's doctor's appointment, and we were hungry. This was also during our 4th pandemic (vaccinations required).

The servers did an excellent job at verifying us (keeping in mind their Covid restrictions, while also not being impolite or overbearing on the customer), and keeping us happy.

The food was excellent. Fresh parma seasoned our appetiser (potato skins), and the chicken burger my fiance had, and the quesadilla I had, were the best we had tasted in a long time. The sauce was amazing, and, as a cook myself, I still have to figure out the addition used to the sour cream to make it so good. I very much look forward to the homestyle burger sauce. Gravy was a bit too much stalk, and not enough seasoning or flavor, almost underdone, but tough to tell for sure. Other sauces were amazing.

The fries, however, though homemade, were slightly undercooked, but thats the least of my complaints. Most of it was good, however, I found the atmosphere a bit too loud to enjoy for a post-noon lunch (music was blasting), and the area a bit dark and dingy.

Small points aside, I highly recommend this place. Great food, good service, and a decent atmosphere. A few lighting improvements would go a long way. Wish I took a picture to accompany this review, but we were in a rush, so I didnt.

My apologies. Check out this place if you want some good home cooked meals. From what I can tell, nothing is frozen. I could be wrong. But you certainly do not taste anything frozen. A huge plus,...

Hi came to this place to collect an order for a customer. I arrived at 12.20 pm and have been waiting since then. Then a girl came and asked me why I was waiting for and I said it's for an order pick up. She checked at her table and there was no order ready. So, she said it's not ready yet. So, I waited. After waiting for 10min I asked her how long it would take. She said the kitchen was busy and she didn't know how long it would take. She didn't even go to the kitchen to check on the order and she just said that to me. After waiting for 25min, one guy came to me and asked me, why I was waiting for. I said it's for an order. Then he said he didn't have any delivery order. But then I showed my order and he went back to the kitchen. After 5 min he came back and told me that there had been a glitch in the system and now they had started making that order and it would take 12min. This was after 30 min. I was really surprised, they didn't consider even delivery orders are for customers. They just neglect them. If the first girl when back to the kitchen and inquire about the order it could have been lot easier. But instead, she said the easy words " kitchen is very busy". This is the second time this happened to me out of three times I went there. After 48 min, I was able to collect the order. I was really disappointed about their service.
