I placed an order exceeding $80 for my household and guests. Once it arrived it was obvious that two of the dishes were confused before delivery and were wrong. I called to inform them of their mistake and ask for replacement food to be dispatched, it is not wrong to expect to receive what has already been paid for.

On the phone I was told that the obviously beef dish was chicken while I looked at it, and broke the strip of beef apart and ate some. But the lady on the phone assured me that I could not beleive my own eyes and mouth, no, that was chicken. I pointed out how neither of the dishes could be mistaken for the ones we ordered, And offered to have them sent back if she would not beleive me so that she could see imperical evidence that the dishes were very wrong.

Sweet and sour beef with tomatoes is not 'spicy pepper chicken', and veggies in a blackbean sauce is certainly not 'sizzling ginger beef'. But I was informed that I was very wrong, talked over and told "this is how we have made these for thirty years". I tried explaining that I am not debating their recipes, I am reporting the delivery of entirely the wrong meals.

It became very obvious correcting the matter was NOT a priority for them, so my houseguests and I ate the mystery ingredients, marvelling at the horrible deflection and poor customer service. (I had put my cell on speaker phone so that my guests could witness it themselves. Ooops.).

It was my first, and very last time ordering from them. When I spend $89.70 on food, I expect to receive the product I have already paid for, not being told that the beef directly in front of me is actually chicken. I did not order gaslighting with my meal. Never again. Better yet, I am happy to share my experience with anyone when Tongs Wok comes up in conversation - such is the price of essentially flipping a room full of people the bird when they tell you that you made an error. ...

We discovered Tongs almost two years ago and have eaten there about 5 or 6 times now (last night being the latest). As usually, we left fully satisfied!

Love that we can sit down and be eating within ~20 mins--despite a variety of dishes being ordered!

Food... We have begun trying a new dish every time we eat here and last night the 'Red Pepper Chicken'--a nice blend of heat (spice) and flavour. Always receive big dishes and have lots of leftovers to take home.

Prices... for a family of five, we typically pay upwards of $110 to eat, but Tongs we can eat for slightly more than $75 AND still have take-home for the next day.

Service... always friendly & fast; water/drinks rarely stays empty for long.

Seating... small tables for 1-4 people all the way to big, round, lazy Susan equipped, tables for ~8 (possibly more) people.

Have read a few of the bad reviews here and, as of yet, haven't experienced any of those issues. Have had the ginger beef (another reviewer commented soupy) and ours did have heavy sauce (not so much like their pic showed) and, yes, was different than other places ginger beef, ie not as crispy here & more sauce by far (not our number one choice, but we do re-order as flavour is fine). And yes, we've see tomatoes? in it and thought it was strange but didn't affect flavour in any bad way.

This place reminds me of the Chinese food places from my childhood--big flavour, giant egg rolls, massive chicken balls & great fried shrimp that aren't greasy, and consistent...

Ordered take out for the first time from this place. I wont call it disgusting, but I will say it was incredibly disappointing. The chicken fried rice was exactly that … rice, peas and a little bit of chopped up chicken. The crispy ginger beef was basically tomato stew, the few pieces of beef were soggy, flavourless and you had no idea there was ginger in the dish at all. Just large pieces of tomato, two cups of tomato soup sauce, some other veggies and about ten pieces of meat in the dish. (maybe a couple ounces). The dry ribs were over cooked, over salted and some of them didn’t have any meat on the bone at all. Just breaded bones. The veggie dish was over sauced with a bland oil, It’s sad. It looked like they cared about the food they served, veggies looked fresh and they put effort into cutting carrots into shapes, etc. But all the flavours were bland and off. When I phoned to complain, I got the standard “We’ve been making it 35 years that way, same chefs”. Totally not my thing… wont be back. And I honestly can’t say I can recommend a single dish that I tried, and I ordered six dishes. Spent 70$… for me it was totally not...

We decided to give Tongs Wok another try as our last take out order was sadly the same . It had been a few years . Being the only Chinese restaurant in the northend we thought about convenience and forgot about quality . The wonton soup was ok. Not enough for four but my family said it was good. The special fried rice was OK as well as the beef and broccoli vegetable medley, although it lacked flavour. The worst part of the meal was everything that was fried, The shrimp was fried in batter so thick it was hard to even bite into, The chicken balls were the same gross batter super thick. What I was looking forward to the most ended up the worest part of the meal. I don’t know how they call them eggrolls??? They are giant blobs of fried batter with some random vegetable filling inside hands-down the worst eggrolls we have ever had. We couldn’t even eat more than one bite. Do yourself a favour and save the $70 on the dinner for four there has to be better Chinese food out there. Four thumbs down 👎🏻

I recently visited Tong's Wok Chinese restaurant and my experience left much to be desired. Despite ordering chicken fried rice and Szechuan chicken, I was disappointed by the lack of chicken in both dishes. The chicken fried rice was particularly egregious, as it contained no chicken at all. Even though I paid $30, including tax, the value was not reflected in the quality of the food. The Szechuan chicken was overwhelmed by vegetables, with minimal chicken and lacking the promised spice. Despite the ease of ordering and navigating the well-made website, the food itself was subpar. I found the lack of flavor and meat disheartening, especially considering the reputation of Chinese cuisine for bold flavors. In summary, while Tong's Wok may excel in convenience and website design, the lackluster food quality leaves much to be desired. I would hesitate to recommend this restaurant based on my disappointing dining experience.

I had the experience of eating here for the first time in many years. The service here was good and fast. The restaurant didn’t look any different than what I remembered it being but also looked like it was still in good shape and not run down. We were here for dinner where it was very quiet due to lots of empty tables and hardly anyone else eating in the restaurant. When we were here i also noticed that there wasn’t many people coming in to pickup dinner either. The food here was good it came out pretty fast.
