My family and I have been coming to Boston Pizza for the past 5-6 years and this summer 2023 was by far the worst experience. My family and I were disgusted with the atrocious, unprofessional, and horrific customer service from the front line staff (hosts) at this Boston Pizza in Port Elgin.
I am an experienced sales consultant of 6 years, I found it absolutely disgusting and that the front line staff especially the hosts, they could not follow a simple direction or answer why is it taking so long instead looked away and pretending to look busy. This needs to be addressed and the hosts need to be fired immediately - in customer service these hosts are the ones to bring down businesses as well as profits. The hosts took it upon themselves to delay my family and other customers behind my family and the only explanation for this is the immature, unprofessional behaviour is to lack of communication, professionalism, training and experience. This unfortunately caused the line up to leave the franchise to go elsewhere.
First and foremost, customers are always first because they are the bread and butter of the restaurant, which allows them to keep running the franchise. Being ignored by hosts for more than 8-10 mins when the restaurant was quarter full, this is an insult as we are waiting for service, it only means that the Boston pizza franchise in Port Elgin need to be fired (not retrained- animals could do a better job) all hosts need to go scrub toilets and hiring new staffing is imperative!!!!! Only with proper training can a franchise succeed. The hosts are inadequate beings who need to go scrub toilets along with doing dishes. That’s all they are good for !!!!!
Absolutely disgusted, insulted, and frustrated with the hosts. Head office please take note of this incident and please fire the hosts !!!!! Please train your new staff to be knowledgeable as well as considerate towards walk-ins to ensure proper communication and customer service.
I’ll be sure to spread the word to all of my clients in the surrounding areas as well as inform the social media platforms that your location lacks professionalism, experience, and most importantly customer service.
Never coming to this location or any Boston pizza again!!!! Boston Pizza makes Fast food restaurants look like GOLD…reach out to McDonalds & Tim Hortons and have them train your new hosts of the port Elgin branch and maybe just maybe they comprehend what customer service is.

Read moreFive of us went to Boston Pizza, 2 of us, over 55 yrs of age and 3 of us 80yrs plus. We had a lot of laughs with our server, Shaun. He had loads of personality and a good sense of humour. I'd rate his service 4 out of 5. Winning personality for sure, he did make fresh pot of coffee, but our ice waters could have been refilled, coffee refill was overlooked, an order of fries were barely warm (not his fault) and the two pasta dishes weren't piping hot either (again, not his fault) but it was substantially too long before we got his attention to relay the feedback about the food quality coming out of the kitchen. The Kicken' Memphis Chicken sandwich was as expected, the Caesar salad was ok (certainly not amazing and served with dried up/dehydrated old lemon wedges). Shaun did bring another plate of fries, half as many, hotter than the original ones but still, not fresh, not piping hot. One person was very disappointed with the spaghetti pasta dish, hardly ate any of it. For a restaurant who identifies as a pizza and pasta place, your pasta sauces should be flavourful, and noodles piping hot and cooked just right for a memorable meal experience in my opinion. While we enjoyed each other's company, and had several laughs with Shaun, he didn't compensate the bill at all for cold fries, dried old lemon wedges, warmish pasta with sauce that tasted 'meh'. We all feel the kitchen service/quality certainly wasn't there and agree that it was a disappointing food experience. With the cost of things these days, it really packs a...
Read moreThis is quite possibly the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. I had been to this location before, but tonight’s visit was brutal. After the greeter sat me, I waited 40 minutes before I had to ask a server if I could get a glass of water and to take my order. This was also after using the electronic menu option where you can “alert the server”. I had made eye contact with every server multiple times that walked past my table before I decided to flag somebody down. The bar area was busy, and I got to watch the female bartender eat one of the customers poutine French fries. One of the other servers loudly commented on a sign that fell off the bar before giving it the middle finger. He then took my empty plate with a smile on his face after amusing himself gather. It was very hard to determine who actually worked for the restaurant, as all staff were in street clothes.
I feel compelled to share this for one reason……my 3-4 visits to this location annually are over. I know my $$ will probably go unnoticed. My hope is, at the very least, the owners / franchisee reads this and decides to clean the place up. And by clean, I don’t mean the restaurant, I mean the staff. Do better! I’d be happy if you lied to me and pretended you cared. Sorry for my negativity and bad review, but both the restaurant and future patrons should know exactly what they’re...
