Wacky's — Restaurant in Sault Ste. Marie

Absolutely disgusted by the attitude of the waitress and terribly slow (lack) of service. We had just arrived from the airport where I had welcomed a friend to Soo and we wanted to find something good to eat after his long trip. Before we were even seated my wife saw the waitress rolling her eyes and huffing like she didn’t want us there. It was about 15 minutes to get seated in a relatively empty restaurant. At which point we said we wanted All-you-can-eat and she told us the kitchen would be closing in 15 minutes. Having had slow service the previous week, we asked if it would be better to do a takeout special instead and how long it would take and she told us she would recommend it and that it would be around 15 minutes. 30 minutes later, we were getting ready to leave as we had been completely ignored since, watched a considerable amount of people come for takeout and leave, and not even having been offered water or asked if we wanted anything while we waited. The waitress then told us the food would be ready in 3 minutes and ran for the debit machine. She punched in numbers and pushed it at me. I explained that I didn’t want to pay until I saw the food was ready, and she asked “why” before becoming very argumentative. We had already been in the restaurant for 45 minutes at this point and I explained that her 15 minutes was longer than 15 minutes and I didn’t want to pay for food I didn’t receive and be stuck waiting another 20 minutes wondering if they were actually preparing food. The waitress had even gone to the order screen to tell us how long we had been waiting, only to tell us a time that was longer than the 15 minutes she had told us it would take. She then accused us of causing a problem EVERY WEEK, simply because of the previous week in which we had waited over 2 hours only receiving a single serving of wings. The staff last week had offered to package some wings to-go which was fine with me and I thought that was settled and done. The waitress then began yelling at me because my wife was upset by the accusations, and when I had repeatedly asked her not to yell at me, she said she was yelling because my wife had raised her voice. I don’t understand how that justifies yelling at me when I am talking. She then went on to yell that if we don’t pay they we will be banned. I again said for her to stop yelling at me if we are talking, and that I will pay when I see the food is ready. It had been roughly 10 minutes at this point, still longer than the 3 minutes she had told us, and she out-right told us we were all banned. I’m also disgusted by the fact that my friend has been banned after being in the city for only 1 hour, while receiving no food or service and having said nothing. They simply wasted an hour of his life before banning him. Stay away and certainly don’t think of this place as anywhere to...

My family has been ordering from this location pretty much weekly for the last couple of years. Tonight when my family member arrived to pick up our order, they were informed they didn’t have an order with that name on it. The person I was speaking with was unbelievably rude and finally asked if I wanted to place an order. No, I already placed an order! I hung up the phone completely dumbfounded. After calling back and talking to the manager it was discovered that the person who took the order put the completely wrong name on it and my order was actually ready. I was offered a slice of cheesecake for the inconvenience. When my food got to my house, our fries & onion rings were cold, and we were missing an order of fries and mozzarella sticks (my son’s entire dinner!). I called the restaurant yet again and was offered a credit for the fries (although we were accused of making our own fries cold on the way home with the AC in our car!). At this point I felt that my concerns were being brushed aside and said I would reach out to upper management to continue the conversation as well as posting a review of my experience as I did not feel we would be able to come to a resolution we both found agreeable. The manager asked me to give her 5 minutes to get back to me to avoid the negative review. After speaking with someone else the manager called back and offered to send a whole new order right then or credit part of our meal but I was no longer interested. Clearly this establishment does not value long time customers and with the rising cost of eating out I will definitely be spending my money elsewhere, where I get what I pay for and my business is valued. Even putting the food issues aside, the way I was spoken to by the take out employee on the phone was completely unacceptable. She did not even attempt to solve the problem by asking the phone number on the order or what the order consisted of. She went immediately to rude and dismissive and made me feel like I was...

I really like this place, but getting takeout or delivery is a nightmare. For takeout and ubereats I have had my order be wrong, or entirely missing items multiple times. On top of that, there is not option to substitute boneless wing poutine for plant based wings on either their website or Ubereats, and ubereats I informed them about MONTHS ago and nothing has changed. For a restaurant at this price point and this nice, I was not happy to see that this is an issue on their own website as well, so I was forced to order my wings and poutine separately and put it together myself at home.

HOWEVER, their website delivery is much better. I had no issue with it, and even called to request no utensils with it and they fulfilled. Nothing was wrong with the order, no sauces were wrong. Definitely will use the website again if they fix the issue (or I discover I was wrong) with the plant based boneless wing poutine.

The food, is great. Except their mac and cheese. It's good enough that I'll still order it, but only if I'm taking it home because it really has no flavour and the sauce is horribly emulsified. I'd give it a 6/10 honestly cuz truly, it's not disgusting.

so I can no longer praise the meat substitute. Their provider went out of business and had to change, fine, but now it's cauliflower, which is NOT A NEUTRAL MEAT SUBSTITUTE. no more wings for me, yippee🥲

Atmosphere is a bit meh, the people are great honestly but the ambience is a bit much. There's not much for sound absorption so it can get a bit noisy during rush hour, but definitely not horrible. Personally I just avoid sitting in after about 6pm! 😂

Overall, still a regular place I have and will eat from. Though I really hope they can made it less of a hassle to order my plant based...
