Superior Bakery has been a local favorite since 1975, but unfortunately, the quality and service no longer live up to the reputation. The only bright spot is one particular employee â the redhead who works there. Sheâs friendly, helpful, and actually provides the kind of customer service youâd expect from a small, local bakery. Sadly, when sheâs not working, the whole atmosphere changes. The other staff donât seem interested in their customers at all. It often feels like youâre inconveniencing them by ordering, which makes the experience uncomfortable.
The products themselves arenât much better. For the prices they charge, I expect fresh, high-quality baked goods, but too often the bread and pastries are stale or dry, and the flavor just isnât there. Consistency is a big issue â one day something might be decent, and the next time itâs almost inedible.
Whatâs most disappointing are their apple fritters. This bakery is known for them, and they should be big, ugly clumps of deliciousness packed with apple. Instead, theyâre oddly smooth, almost apple-less, and honestly not worth it. I can get better apple fritters from the grocery store. On top of that, the donuts have gotten noticeably smaller over time, while the prices either rise or stay the same. It feels like youâre paying more for less, and the quality doesnât justify it.
A bakery with such a long history should be something the community can be proud of, but Superior Bakery simply doesnât deliver anymore. Itâs sad to see a local favorite decline, and unless thereâs serious improvement in both service and quality, I canât...
Read moreCame here to grab a sandwich to go. My partner had never experienced superior bakery before so I figured weâd support local & get some grub.
This place is best known for its donuts. People claim theyâre the best donuts ever. I disagree- Iâm not a huge donut person, but they arenât anything to write home about. They have some other tasty bakery items that are just as good if not better. Thereâs even Italian goods here, if youâre not from the area itâs worth checking out.
I love how they sell local home made pastas and sauces, I wish we wouldve had the time to enjoy more of this.
The deli counter wasnât busy, but the lady working didnât seem to be having a great day. She was quite short and succinct with us. Seemed annoyed we wanted some service. They also seemed to be out of many items.
They have boards on the wall behind the counter that indicate the options for purchase or for your sandwich.
We were able to get tasty sandwiches nonetheless, but wished weâd had a more pleasant interaction.
Next time I think weâd try somewhere else. However I do think their sandwiches are a great alternative that you can customize if youâre looking for something more home made.
The sandwich itself was great. Fresh bread, tasted great and...
Read moreUnfortunately an awful experience with the manager Karen and the cake my friend had ordered. When asking what happened and why the cake didnât have the filling or any strawberries (a strawberry shortcake with custard was what was ordered) she explained that the filling that was asked for wasnât able to be a part of that cake. Which wasnât explained when the order was placed. Karen also mentioned they canât offer strawberries in a strawberry shortcake. Their ordering system is notes written on a piece of paper which could contribute to lack of communication. She did refund my friend, but she threw a tantrum and threw the money at us. With others being in the store. So...
