A&W Canada — Restaurant in Sault Ste. Marie

Recently (11:00pm Sunday Jan 5th) I went to this location and was very displeased with the service I received.

Uppon ordering onion rings with my meal, the employee working the drive through speaker sighed and said "I suppose".

I was a little surprised but continued to order a second meal with a lettuce wrapped burger for my celiac wife. This made him sigh even harder and said "I suppose I could do that too" with a very rude tone.

Uppon arriving to the pay window he told me "oh by the way we have no pickles for our burgers right now" after he handed me the debit terminal.

When he handed me the bags he basically slammed the window and didn't even give me the chance to ask for dipping sauce for the onion rings.

When I got home (a three minute drive) the burgers were almost completely cold. They were not even remotely fresh, as though they had been sitting on the heating tray for hours and should have been tossed long ago, and the buns were soggy. I took one bite and was disgusted. We were just at this A&W and we ordered the Papa double cheese double bacon and we received the Mamas in error. Before I even checked my bill I mentioned to the clerk that we got mamas in error. She ordered the right ones but we said it was okay not to worry but she said they are already ordered. When I checked my bill it was for mamas burgers so we only paid for mama burgers. Next thing we know the manager brought us another full order with fries as well and we felt guilty for mentioning it. We offered our bitten in burgers back but he said they would throw them out so he gave us a bag to take the papa burgers with us. What excellent service we received from them! I work nearby this location and I go here almost every day to grab some tea. I usually order a Chai tea or a Red Rose tea. This morning, I requested to have two tea bags added to my medium Chai tea and the employee told me she would have to charge me for two medium teas then. $2.10 extra for just a tea bag? You gotta be kidding me. I am okay paying for the extra tea bag but you charge me $2.10 extra just for a tea bag? I am not even asking for an extra cup. I am not sure if this is the policy or she didn't know what she was doing but I'd rather go to Tim Hortons then and pay $0.25 extra for an extra tea bag and enjoy my tea in peace rather than paying $4...
