PKLS Burgers — Restaurant in Sechelt

There was a minor mixup with the online order at the time of pickup.

After we pointed it out, they gave us a refund on the error. On top of that, the owner later called us personally to apologize and offer compensation for the mixup.

In the end, she went above and beyond our expectations to make the situation right. All in all, they handled the situation very well.

The owner provided exceptional customer service. The fries had a perfect balance of potato, seasoning, and crispiness and the shakes were creamy and frothy.

We ended up going twice. Once on Wednesday and the next on a Saturday. There was a difference between the quality of food and service from Wednesday to Saturday and I think that was based on who was working at the time.

Needless to say, you can count on their integrity and genuine compassion to make sure your experience at PKLS Burgers is one to remember.

THEIR INSTAGRAM FEED IS A LIE! PKLS Instagram is full of pretty images, tempting you with what look to be delicious burgers. Too bad it is nothing but false advertising. Our family’s experience at PKLS was very poor. While we all agreed the fries were good, the burgers and the service was TERRIBLE! Our take out order was for 9 burgers, but we only received 8. We weren’t far from the PKLS location so we called, thinking that their response would be “oh sorry about that, just come back we will make you another one” We did pay for it after all. Instead we were accused of lying! I was told by the chef that he had double packed 2 of our burgers because they had the same toppings. My SIL opens the package he said should have 2 burgers together - there was only one burger. Again his response was “are you sure?” To make matters worse, 4 of our family members were in the store when we called...my nephew said the “guy on the phone” was completely unprofessional - even after they told him that they were part of this “big order”. So lesson learned. We won’t be back. Sorry we gave them our business tonight. Wish we had read some of the reviews...

Burger was mediocre. Basic fast food quality, maybe slightly above. The bacon was pretty good but the cheese was very obviously fake. Like, kraft slices fake which is a major ding when you're paying restaurant prices.

The service was fine. I got some sass though when I wanted to pay with a card with a pin (they only accept tap cards for some reason). Buddy told me "That's just the way things are now." I dunno, in retrospect maybe that was even rude?

The poutine was very decently sized for the price and it used curds, but the gravy was the same salty "brown sauce" you get at the ferry. I guess some people are fine with that but I find it a little gross. The fries themselves were average.

If I'm gonna be dead honest A&W do both better and cheaper. For the $20 I spent I don't think it's unfair to expect better than fast food quality and at least equal service.

If anyone at pkls is reading this I hope you take it as honest criticism and not an attack because I do want to see small local businesses thrive. I'll commit to giving you another chance in six months or so but please don't...
