The Mighty Kiwi Juice Bar & Eatery — Restaurant in Selkirk

I want to write a better review, but based on other reviews saying the food is bland I have to agree. I had their soup, it was watery, but I like watery soup- so you’re ok there. Tasted quite good, but reminded me of Tim Horton soups. Just the texture. My mother had a sandwich. She said it had no flavour and I agree they should have put more sauce on it, why chintz on the sauce? I don’t think the staff eat their own food because if they did they would know how dry and rabbit food-like it is. Please don’t chintz on the flavourings. You need to add vegan mayo and lots of sauce to your sandwiches if they’re going to be just bread and veggies. Nobody likes dry rabbit food without flavour. We’re not rabbits so let’s not eat like it, hmm? Same with the cheesecakes, we had three different kinds and each of them was very much lacking in flavour. May I suggest getting someone who is a master with spices to help you up your game. Please get more creative, this is a restaurant, I was expecting more, as I myself can make much better at home I was very disappointed.

Another thing... my mother who was the one who went in, said that no one was wearing masks, none of the customers and none of the staff, said she was the only one in there with a mask. Not sure if this is legal or not, but that’s very irresponsible. What about the people preparing the food? Are they wearing masks??? Not impressed.... probably not...

Service was not the best. We were the only two customers in there and the girl working there forgot half of our order. I ordered a soup and sandwich combo, my partner ordered a couple sandwiches and a water. I waited for my soup for about 20 minutes before I went up and asked for it. I found that this place is NOT kid friendly at all! My one year old son loves their fresh juice but unfortunately I can't let him out of his stroller to look around as there are cacti everywhere within his reach, no highchairs either. No kids activity to keep him busy while I eat. In my opinion they would benefit from having highchairs and kids books or colouring pages. Maybe once they make some changes more moms would want to take their children there for fresh juices and smoothies as opposed to feeding their kids koolaid all summer. This place is also no wheelchair accessible as there is a large step to get into the building, I'm not affected by this but I know a few who would love to go in and check the place out but they can't even enter...

Online orders are definitely the way to go here if you don't want to wait around. Excellent flavors and freshness from what we ordered. Walk-in orders are another thing. Still great food but within the same day we did a walk-in order and it was a 20 minute wait for our order and someone else that came in at the same time. I understand prep work takes time but both orders from 2 different customers were a drink and an item that was already prepared. Walk-in orders require a faster turnaround time and staff need to be aware of this. I'll change my rating if there's an...
