Before I even start, this cost 75$ + tip, Ordered the breaded veal combo plate, 2x breaded veal, deluxe rice, 6 spring rolls and honey garlic sauce (the containers were barley half full). Not even half an hour after eating 1 plate me and my roommate are feeling sick (I threw up just after eating it). The rice tasted like it sat out all day, breaded veal was soggy (picked most of the breading off) the honey garlic sauce( if you can even call it that) was just gelatine with chunks of garlic in it. For 75$ all the containers were less than half full, my roommate got part of a carrot in the mixed vegetables ( which had 3 pieces broccoli, 1 piece of carrot, 4 pieces cauliflower with no seasoning at all) there were 4 pieces of pork, 4 pieces of beef and 3 pieces of shrimp in the “deluxe fried rice” (and a couple mushroom pieces). We estimated about 50$ for all of it, when we got told 75$ we were taken aback. The only half decent thing was the spring rolls. It’s my birthday and we just wanted some half decent Chinese food, this was ridiculous. Last time we ordered was the same thing, we thought ordering on a weekend it would be fresh, we were wrong. I guess no more Chinese food until a new place comes to town. I’m not a person that does google reviews but after this as my birthday dinner I’m now feeling sick, go to Lockport instead (golden spoon). I should of taken photos but after not eating since noon I was pretty hungry (we were opting for BP at first which I now regret not getting). This was the first time I’ve ordered 75$ worth of Chinese food and barley...
Read moreI would rate a 0 if I could. It is an absolute waste of money.
Ordered 3 different combo dishes for takeout. About $12 each on the printed menu.
Got a bill for $50 BEFOIRE TAX, silly me left a tip. What a rip.
Worst Chinese food I ever had. Tried 6 months ago it was sort of mediocre but this time it was horrid.
Fried rice was dried out and tasteless except for a dash of soy sauce. Nothing else but stale fried rice with some clumpy white rice mixed in.
Sweet & sour chicken balls and shrimp were mostly batter, they must have painted on the sauce with a small paint brush, could hardly notice it.
Shrimp tasted like old fish, and if there was breaded veal I couldn't tell the difference between it and the chicken.
The egg rolls were so dry inside they were unpalatable. The roll itself was burnt at the edges, like it had been reheated 5 times. How do you screw up an egg roll? And no plumb sauce. Cheap.
I discovered Chinese greens were nothing but limp broccoli, in all 3 combo plates.
I really miss Selkirk (Bill's) Chinese before they closed. It was the best Chinese food anywhere.
Next time I'll try Lockport and cross my fingers. There are no other Chinese...
Read moreAn update is definitely needed on the website, went on a Friday and there was no lunch buffet as advertised. The restaurant is really nothing special and is very dated. It looks like it’s been around for decades and smells like it too. However, I enjoyed their Cantonese Chow Mein, the flavours were tasty but the portions were pretty small; 2 shrimps, 2 pieces of chicken, 2 pieces of beef and 3 pieces of bbq pork, a couple pieces of cauliflower, a couple slices of carrots, about 4 slices of mushrooms and a whole lot of broccoli, on a small bed of noodles. Drinks are expensive at $1.99 a pop or bottle of water. Service was strange as we had to fill out our own order bill with our order preferences… never in all my years was I expected to do this at a sit down restaurant. I was actually really caught off guard by this. The waiter said absolutely nothing to us the entire time and it made me wonder if he actually spoke English. Although, I would go back and try other dishes and consider a take out order in the future. Very strange experience but the food was flavourful.
Update: had take out the food was decent but the portions are...
