Sake Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Selkirk

Picked up a selection of our favorite Makis and one that we hadn't tried before last night and everything was awesome, including the Teriyaki beef rolls.

I'm very picky about teriyaki in general (it's not about authenticity, I just have a certain level of sweetness and tanginess that I like) and it's where a lot of places fall down for me, but these makis were both delicious and different from any I've had - the overall flavor reminded me a bit of when I go for Vietnamese charbroiled beef vermicelli. If teriyaki beef rolls are your jam, you definitely want to try these.

I spotted a couple of other ones in the "speclal" rolls that looked good but I didn't want to risk the budget until we'd tested the waters - we'll definitely be trying them out in the future.

They gave us exactly as much soy sauce as we needed, but that could as easily have been not enough, we're not heavy soy users. I'm a wasabi fiend so I already know to ask for extra of that, but you might want to ask for a little extra on the condiments...

We are here on holiday staying at Grand Beach and came to town for the market. We had seen this Sushi restaurant earlier in the week and decided to stop in today as a treat. This was by far the best sushi we have had in a very long time. My daughter ordered the Ramen and California combo and loved it, and we added Manitoba, Volcano, Summer, Spicy Shrimp and AC rolls. There were so many great options. We took lots back to camp after appropriately stuffing ourselves.

There was a wait from the time we ordered to the time we received our food but it was well worth it. As I mentioned, best sushi we’ve had in a while.

The price was very good compared to what we would pay at home. I was so impressed with the check when I paid. $67 for that amount of sushi and quality was amazing. I wish we could take this place with us. If we are ever back in Selkirk, we will definitely...

I will give be credit where credit is due. The food was awesome, presentation and portions very acceptable! My only complaint is the poor and rude service. I phoned to make a pick up order and after the order was placed, I pleasantly said good-bye and was hung up on with no thank you or good bye or anything. Then when I arrived there to pickup, I gave them my name, no words but “yah” and (wearing a mask) waiting for my order I was scolded to stand behind the screen. Just a very unpleasant experience. It would go a long way to improve their reputation if they were just kind and thankful for the business. Instead, rude and unfriendly. Again, food was excellent,...
