I have been going to Weber’s for over 40 years, and it holds a certain nostalgia. Weber’s is an iconic cottage country landmark on Hwy 11. They food here is good but the experience is the draw. You’ll usually find a long line of people waiting, but the line moves quickly. They have a good system in place where the staff come out to you while you’re standing in line to take your order and process payment. By the time you make it to the end of the line, your food is ready for pick up. Don’t let the long lines deter you, wait times are usually 10-20 minutes from start to finish. Enjoy the experience and the enticing smell all the charbroiled goodness being made to order. The food is what you would expect from a diner – burgers, hotdogs, french fries, poutine, pop and shakes. The burgers are tasty, charbroiled on the grill and cooked to perfection. They offer a choice of single, double or triple patties. The burgers are on the thinner side so if you like a lot of meat you might want to add a patty or two. The hotdogs, fries and shakes are my favourite. The fries are always well-seasoned, the hotdogs juicy and the shakes thick and rich. They also have a garden burger available for those looking for a vegetarian option. Aside from the Weber’s restaurant, there is a Baskin Robbins and a Starbucks on site for those who want a little something else. Weber’s is located on the northbound side of highway 11 but accessible via the southbound highway via the iconic orange access bridge which allows for safe passage over the highway. They are a seasonal operation with plenty of parking. It’s wheelchair accessible as most areas are located at street level. A variety of seating options available. There are Adirondack chairs and picnic tables by the cookhouse, more picnic tables in the park area behind it, and an air-conditioned train car that has been converted into a dining room. The washrooms are usually clean and the park area large. Weber’s is also dog friendly. Pricing is competitive and they only take cash and debit for payment. Worth a visit just to say you’ve been here and had the Weber’s experience. This is a must when you’re in...
Read moreWe drive by Webers located in Orillia every year when we go to see the Fall colours. There's always a long lineup but this time we decided to go see what the hype is about! YOLO!!!
I would like to point out their ordering process so if you read this review, you will have an idea what to expect. We were approached quickly by an order taker while we were waiting in line. After our order was taken, we were handed our order slip. Not long after, another person came to collect the payment. We were pleased to see the line moved quickly. Once we entered the building, we saw at least 8 staff working in an open and organized kitchen. There is not much interaction between the staff and the customers, similar to going to a fast food chain, you simply collect your order and leave the premise.
After we got our food, we were blown away to see what the owner of Weber has to offer. There are a few detached train cabins sitting on the well maintained lot. One of the cabin was an enclosed seating area, the other is a gender specific washroom. There is also ample outdoor seating with muskoka chairs and picnic tables. I will absolutely recommend families traveling with young and old to go there for a stretch.
The price and quality of Weber burger is exceptionally reasonable and tasty. The cleanliness is superb considering it is a high traffic facility. It is a must to try!
I will recommend Weber to consider adding a paid gourmet choice of dressing for the burger. Other than that, Weber has provided an above and beyond location for all travelers and definitely a gem on Highway 11. Thank you...
Read moreI appreciated the great service when I recently visited. The order taker guy in the line up was real friendly and efficient. The staff wearing uniforms and the Weber's hats really conveys a 50s vibe, which I found awesome. The service was also really fast. Thank you kindly for this.
The last time I visited was probably 20 or so years ago. Here is some honest feedback to the owner/operators of this business regarding the quality of the product:
Hamburger buns are too "fluffy" and not toasted/heated enough on the grill (just look at the photos other's have provided). My burger tasted like I was eating a little meat with an excess of dry bread.
Change you hamburger patty supplier (or fix the recipe if they are homemade). There is nothing there in terms of unique taste. The patties are so bland and unseasoned, and don't even "drip" with any juice. Not normal. I appreciate the prices, but there are pattie suppliers which make superior tasting product.
The burger I was served was really plain tasting. Surprisingly, there was a hint of pink indicating it wasn't even cooked properly! I was too lazy to cross the bridge again to complain, so I just took my chances and ate it.
The rave burger reviews from other people only indicate to me that they are either from millenials who don't know much, and or people who aren't familiar with how burgers taste in other classic burger joints.
That's all folks, and see you in another 20 years (if I am...
