Golden Capital Restaurant — Restaurant in Sherwood Park

I have been going to this place since I was a kid, the previous owners were family friends. Since ownership changed I continued to order from there. I’ve been a long time supporter. A few nights ago my family placed an order for delivery, we repeated our order more than once and made sure to spell out the address. We were told it would take 45 minutes and an 1.5 hours later it arrived… understandable considering the weather and the delivery driver was very nice! However once we opened the bag we realized we were missing one of our items. I looked at the receipt and noticed we had not been charged for it either but it was the one item my child wanted to eat. I called and mentioned what had happened and asked if I could have the missing item sent out as it was my daughters dinner. I told them I had not been charged there had just been a mistake when taking the order and was more than willing to pay for the item. I was rudely told over and over again while not being able to get a word in that “it’s my fault I didn’t order it” When I tried to explain things I was called a liar and told if I wanted the item I’d have to wait another hour and a half and pay not only for the item but an additional $5 for the delivery. At this point I had been name called and shouted at by their employee so I asked to speak with a manager, I was told the manager only works one day a week and they were not there. Then I was put on hold and the same lady came back stating she WAS the manager. She called me a liar again and that was when I said they had lost a long time customer and if their staff doesn’t learn to treat people with respect they will continue to lose them. Ordered from Golden Capital for the first time this evening. It is Mother’s Day and as expected they are busier than usual. When first placing our order we were informed of a 2 hour wait time on our order. We hesitated because of the wait time, but decided to go ahead with the order anyway. I arrived at the arranged pick up time and after a short wait I was informed that my order would be another 20 min and I would receive a phone call when the order was ready. I waited 50 min before calling to confirm that we were still able to receive our order, at that point I was told the order was next to be prepared. I went back to the restaurant to get our order, that at this point was placed over 3 hours prior. I was not offered much of a discount at first but was able to come to an agreement on an appropriate price due to the major delay. We did finally get our order home and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food, especially due to the obvious delays and back up they were facing at the time. We will definitely order from them again. My only reason for not giving a 5 star review is that I think they took on more than they could handle tonight, and should maybe have stopped taking orders earlier in...

Ordered the green onion cakes and there was no onion flavor and doughy in the middle…there was a spicy red sauce they expected you to dip in which I’ve never had that offered before which would’ve killed any green onion flavor if there was any. Also ordered the dinner for one. So disappointed yes there was a lot of food but not good flavor. The only thing that was any good was the ginger beef. The beef and greens were ice cold and tasted like some coating that was unpleasant almost seemed like there was too much msg because it tasted overly salty which extended into the chow mein. I found the chicken balls tough like they were refried. Left basically the whole dinner and appetizer there minus the ginger beef. Wasn’t offered a discount but was told that next time just order the ginger beef omg as if I would ever come back. Most expensive ginger beef I’ve ever had $30. Highly not recommend this restaurant… one star...
