King Star Oriental Buttet — Restaurant in Smiths Falls

We had ordered from here tonight and we were not given our egg rolls in our order, this is the 3RD time they have forgotten an item in our order that my husband had to drive back for. I called the restaurant to tell them they forgot our egg rolls and my husband was coming back for them again and how upsetting this was that this has happened to us three times now, the girl continuously laughed and argued me that they packed the egg rolls and kept asking me to double check. I checked multiple times and nothing, she kept saying that they checked it and they were in there and then asked me if we got extras of something else instead; confusing how if they checked it they would know. Such a frustrating experience yet again and spent $100 to not get the food we ordered, have to go all the way back to get it and have them laugh at the situation rather than professionally resolve it is ridiculous. The last few times we have eaten at Kingstar has been very disappointing. The food tasted like old grease and rice was not cooked, very hard texture. We had a group of eight people and we all agreed the food was greasy and some of it was very overcooked which you couldn’t cut it(chicken balls, egg rolls, fish ex) and they all had the same taste. They also don’t allow you to order off a menu for kids who don’t eat Chinese food. Our server told us they don’t have kids menus on weekends. Why? We ended up paying 16.99 for my grandson who only ate French fries and even they were hard and cold as well. We have been going here for over 12 years. My mother placed a large order on Friday. We always loved the beef and peppers in black bean sauce. This time it was different… there was hardly any beef and it had tons of deep fried tofu 🤢 as a filler. We live out of town so it’s not like we could drive back and have them redo the dish. My mother asked for a refund (e-transfer) because we don’t live in smiths falls and the dish was disgusting with deep fried tofu in a meat dish. They refused to refund her any money and kept insisting they would give her a free beef and peppers dish even though she kept explaining we don’t live in smiths falls.

Also they didn’t fill the containers. They would always have the dishes full of food now they are just a little over half full.
